Current fare rates:
• Up to 7 miles — $2
• 7–15 miles — $4
• Over 15 miles — $6
Senior adults and individuals with disabilities may qualify for reduced fares.

Employee Spotlight: Representing CARTS on the National Level 🚍🇺🇸

Please help us congratulate Jody Glover and Cindy Burgett, drivers for Cullman Area Rural Transportation System, for representing our community at the CTAA National Community Transportation Roadeo Competition!

Jody placed 12th in the nation in the Bus Division. This is a major accomplishment that reflects years of experience, professionalism, safety, and skill behind the wheel.🎉

And Cindy was not far behind, also representing CARTS!

Before competing nationally, both drivers were recognized at the state level for their performance:

In addition to the driving course, both participated in the detailed vehicle inspection portion of the CTAA competition, demonstrating the attention to safety and care that our riders depend on every day.

Jody and Cindy are not only coworkers, but two ladies who consistently support one another. We are proud to see them representing CARTS and our community together on a national level.❤️

Today we want to shine a light on one of our very own, Buzz .💙

Buzz has a beautiful way of putting into words what so many in our community experience every single day. Through this poem, he captures the heart behind what CARTS truly stands for — connection, independence, friendship, and reliable transportation for the people of Cullman County.

“Needing a Lift”

So, as I stepped down and looked around my home at last, I felt I had been found.

There before me stood newly refurbished apartments and within were several handy compartments. So, I thought, with all this space, I should be able to stock the place.

And as I began to wonder, how will I ever get over yonder? My new neighbor, Art, exclaimed! “Just call CARTS”. So, he kindly handed me a brochure that had all the details for sure.

And the more I read, it began to fill my head, why the folks in these parts, rely on CARTS. A day for shopping with friendly faces as we travel to different places. And, when I climbed aboard, the driver was very kind, as she had silver hair, like mine. And when it’s necessary to refill those pills that help to adjust my motor skills, CARTS will lend a hand to complete my medical plan.

And if you’re looking for a friendly face to help keep the pace, CARTS will let you enter the Senior center. Where you just might fill an urgent need and find a friend indeed.

And with each passing day I get a little older, it’s clear to see, I’m moving much slower. But no need to worry, when I’m in need of transportation, CARTS will help me reach my destination.

Thank you, Buzz, for sharing your talent and your heart with all of us. We are honored to have you as part of the CARTS family.

More Than a Ride. More Than Transportation. We Are Community. ✨

For decades, CARTS has quietly served as a lifeline for Cullman County — helping seniors get to doctor appointments, ensuring individuals with disabilities have access to transportation, connecting people to work, groceries, dialysis, pharmacies, community resources, and so much more.

But CARTS is not just about buses and routes.

It is about people.

It is about dignity.
It is about independence.
It is about making sure no one in our community feels forgotten.

And now, under the leadership of our new Executive Director, Stephanie Childers, CARTS is stepping into a new season of growth, compassion, and connection for Cullman County.

Stephanie leads with heart. She believes transportation is more than getting from one place to another — it is about giving people freedom, opportunity, and hope. Her vision for CARTS is rooted in serving others well, building meaningful community relationships, and ensuring every rider feels seen, valued, and cared for.

Behind every CARTS ride is a story:
🚌 A senior citizen able to stay independent
🚌 A patient making it to life-saving treatments
🚌 A neighbor getting to work
🚌 A family receiving support when they need it most

And behind every story is a team that truly cares.
