KVDA is building community resilience by empowering them against climate and disaster risks. We are empowering local communities by addressing immediate environmental challenges but also fostering a culture of proactive engagement through high value seedlings provision for climate smart agriculture, capacity building and value addition.
Joined the National Treasury PS Dr Chris Kiptoo, and his colleagues Dr Kiprono Rono (Agriculture), Eng. John Tanui (ICT), Elgeyo Marakwet governor Wesley Rotich and Keiyo South MP Gideon Kimaiyo at Kapkayo during an empowerment & seedlings distribution of high value crops including coffee, mangoes etc.
Kvda is distributing 15 million coffee, mangoes and avocadoes to farmers.

Together with our Board Chairman Mark Chesergon, Ag Managing Director CPA Moses Kipchumba and senior management, we hosted The National Treasury Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo and his team.
Our discourse centred on areas of mutual cooperation including the Kaptagat integrated conservation programme and its upcoming 10th edition, implementation of various development projects by the Authority among other pertinent issues.

Irrigation farming has been identified as a critical enabler for unlocking the huge food production potential in ASALs regions.

The Lower Turkwel Irrigation Project covering over 3,000 ha will boost food production, create jobs, enhance peaceful coexistence & support sustainable livelihoods in Turkana & West Pokot counties- key pillar of the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.

Joined the Cabinet Secretary Hon Beatrice Askul Moe, ASALs and Regional Development PS Harsama Kello in a high-level consultative meeting with the Governors of West Pokot, H.E. Simon Kachapin, his Turkana counterpart H.E. Jeremiah Lomorukai, MPs and senior leadership from the Ministry of ASALs and Regional Development to deliberate on establishment of the project.

3,000 residents of Kilepoi, Samburu North who endured 20km trek daily in search of water now have easy access after we commissioned a borehole yielding 2000 liters per hour.

The borehole will also serve over 50, 000 livestock hence improve cohesion.
