I have pleasure having raised following issues relating to our Athmalik Assembly Constituency in the floor of the House.
1) Have sought intervention of Honourable Minister forDrinking water and Rural Department for prioritizing completion of the Piped Drinking Water Projects for our Athmallik and Raj Kishorenagar blocks and also to indicate the deadline for making the projects fully operational.
The Honorable Minister, in response, has confirmed that the projects will be completed and operational by 31/12/2025.
As implementation of the Mega Drinking Water Projects are expected to take about one and half years as indicated by the Honorable Minister , being apprehensive of the suffering of the people in some water scarce villages in summer months have demanded interim drinking water arrangment and direction to the District Administration to this effect in order to mitigate the hardship of the people.
2) In order to minimise the crocodile and human conflict in the banks of Mahanadi at Satkosia and Tikarpada area, strict enforcement of safety measures such as provision of barbed wire fencing on the banks used by the inhabitants and also adequate compensation to the family of the recent victim were demanded.
3) The issue of illegal displacement of people from Bhrukundi village of Purunakot GP without conducting Palli Sabha or Gram Sabha was highlighted and justice for the displaced persons was sought.
