Struggling with a concept doesn’t mean a student isn’t capable, it usually means they’re learning something new.

The students who grow the most aren’t the ones who never run into challenges. They’re the ones who ask questions, seek support, and keep going until things start to click.

Getting help is part of the learning process, and having the right support at the right time can make all the difference.

Ask a tutor! Be confident knowing that support is just a few clicks away. Our tutors can help you in 200+ subjects from K-12 and College. All you need to do is ask! Get connected: tutor.com/military

Conversations about safety can be hard, especially when they involve our children. Creating an emotional safety plan with your children can help them navigate big feelings, recognize when something feels wrong, and respond to moments of crisis in ways that support their short- and long-term emotional well-being.

Emotional safety planning isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about building trust, connection, and tools your children can carry with them.

Congratulations to Chester Parker, manager of the Lincoln City Pacific Power & Light office, on receiving an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award.

The award was presented by Greg Malkasian, Oregon ESGR Volunteer Coordinator and Area 2 Chair, alongside nominator E-3 Matthew Diaz of the Oregon National Guard - Oregon Military Department 142nd Wing Oregon Air National Guard.

Malkasian is a retired U.S. Army Reserve lieutenant colonel and a national-level Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Volunteer of the Year for Military Outreach. His work helps connect service members and employers while educating workplaces about rights and responsibilities under USERRA.

“I feel honored to present these awards,” Malkasian shared. “It’s an opportunity to thank employers who support Guard and Reserve members and recognize the extra effort it takes to accommodate military service.”

ESGR Patriot Awards highlight employers who go above and beyond to support the citizen-soldiers and airmen who make up nearly 40 percent of our nation’s military force.
