The Consultative Meeting of Barangay Treasurers served as an essential platform for collaborative dialogue, where key issues surrounding financial governance were addressed, and updates on financial transaction documents were thoroughly reviewed. This gathering highlighted the crucial role that Barangay Treasurers play in ensuring the transparency and proper management of public funds at the grassroots level. The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the challenges of keeping financial records up to date, particularly in light of evolving regulations and the need for more efficient digital solutions.
The culmination of the meeting was the election of new officers, which brought a sense of renewal and optimism to the gathering. Khymer Olaso, who graced the event with an inspiring message where the Mayor called on all barangays, through their barangay treasurers, to help keep the City clean and secured. He emphasized that infrastructure projects must directly benefit the barangay constituents and encouraged the allocation of barangay funds for planting fruit-bearing trees. The Mayor also shared his vision of making Zamboanga City the Fruit Basket or Fruit Capital of the Philippines.
