I'm sorryπŸ₯Ί to say Hogwinkles will be closed temporarily whilst I recover from surgery.

Lisa & her team at Thorne Hedgehog Rescue C.I.C are very kindly covering me whilst I'm out of action; the contact number is:
07825 952201

I'll do another post once I'm back up & running.

And Ladies! GO for your routine Mammograms, I have no symptoms, it's not visible or palpable; only the Mammogram Screening Programme picked it up & I'm ending up with a Lumpectomy followed by Radiotherapy πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯΄

Remember to check for wildlife if you're tidying the garden
πŸ¦” βœ‚οΈπŸš«

Leave grass unmown if you can – but if you must mow, check carefully for & other wildlife first, then cut it initially to about a foot tall.
Check again before cutting any shorter!

This isn't a small hedgehog, the rat trap is just massive. This hedgehog wandered up someone's drive with the trap snapped onto his back. God knows how long he's been wandering around suffering.

When looking at a trap this big and getting it ready to break the neck of the rat they saw one time, does it not go through someones mind that ANY other animal would also be able to get caught in it? Or do they just not care?

Foxes, hedgehogs, birds. Never mind the damage it could do to fox cubs, hoglets and other baby animals.

There should be a requirement that a buyer is tested for common sense before being allowed to purchase dangerous equipment designed to kill.

This hedgehog will need to be sedated to assess for any injuries and then spend a week on anti-inflammatories because constriction injuries can take a week to present.

If you live in the Greatstone area and think this may be your trap, please feel free to contribute towards the cost of the care and attention this animal now needs as a direct result of your carelessness.
