COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE: Are you in a dead zone, have limited access, or struggle to stay in touch with someone who does? Join me in following this. Let’s see where we need to begin again next year.

Years ago, I held AT&T accountable for poor internet and cell service coverage. The FCC required them to update their coverage maps immediately, and they upgraded service in the area I targeted. The school district also finally received the broadband they desperately needed.

With me on this issue is David Johnson for State Representative-91 — who will work hard to pick back up where I left off, in my hometown as well as where I have lived and live now.

Vote like your future depends on it, because it does.

PUBLIC SAFETY: This always hits close to home. I have lost friends, coworkers and classmates to Domestic Violence escalation. I am a survivor and studied advocate for violence deescalation education and survivor support.

A very narrow field of counseling expertise exists called "Domestic Violence Offender Treatment," which provides the Courts with a resource to monitor the mental/emotional status of offenders to help protect victims who file EPOs and DVOs.

DVOTPs become the authority for advising whether an EPO/DVO should be dropped, taking the coercive control offenders maintain with their victims out of the equation and providing law enforcement a more factual basis to enforce protective orders.

Unfortunately, there are not enough providers across the state for all Courts to be able to utilize them.

Our legislators play a very important role in controlling how many providers are available, as it is our legislators who control what type of professional licensure colleges may offer certain credits to. I see a clear way to not only improve access to resources for victims, but to ensure that every Kentucky county has access to DVOTPs who can closely monitor offenders and report facts to the Courts.

This November, send me to Frankfort so I can contribute to the bipartisan talk -- and turn this issue into real action TO SAVE LIVES.

EMPLOYMENT: Gig workers & Independent Contractors will be impacted by Supermajority changes to the income tax code. What used to be exempt from required tax filing, under $20,000 is now $600.

I've talked about how the Supermajority's grand plan is to expand what taxes apply to before increasing all tax and exempting corporations from it. So while you hear them bragging that they're "eliminating property and income tax," be very aware of the lies you're being fed.

Their goal is to make sure the hardest working individuals provide the tax offset that their corporate donors want, to keep the cash you earned flowing into their pockets - not yours.

The IRS lowering the reporting limit to $600 changes everything for small earners. What used to be simple side income is now flagged, tracked, and taxed. Regular people face more paperwork and more pressure while big corporations stay untouched. It is a shift that hits individuals the hardest.

There is no "I" in "TEAM," but you can make a "we" with "me". :)
All you have to do is one small thing to help flip this district!

I am your neighbor. I am volunteering to represent you because I also feel the impact of the real problems we face -- and I'm fed up, too.

I will do everything in my power to reach over 100,000 residents in our Kentucky District 34, on the shoestring budget that I have.

Votes do matter right now, but I want every RESIDENT in our District to know that, without a doubt, I will serve for the individual regardless of party affiliation, or lack thereof.

EMINENT DOMAIN, LOCAL: Silence is acquiescence. Enough is enough!

As The Edge Berea KY points out throughout this article, the rights of property owners to protect and retain their property fall into the hands of our elected state legislators. Throughout my life, various friends have turned to 'little ol' me' for help navigating eminent domain issues. I've walked farms, taken photos and helped prepare statements against big business taking of private property for public use, and I've poured over countless years of city ordinances and state laws governing those things -- not as an attorney, of course, because I am not one -- but as a soundboard bound by reason and a strong sense of justice.

Noting my participation is not intended to imply that we ever won (well, maybe a little), but to simply state: I understand that our legislature decides how local governments and judges must view our current eminent domain laws. I also understand that before we can count on our legislators to fix overreaching statutory power to prevent unjustified taking of property, we must put legislators in place who not only share our perspective but are more than willing to speak up for us, and answer to us.

We citizens will not see threats to our property (and tenant) rights end until we STOP CHOOSING legislators who are too distracted by theirs' and their donors' inexplicable wealth to protect us from it.

We must STOP CHOOSING legislators who are not listening.

I, and Anthony Looney for KY District 81, House of Representatives , and David Johnson for State Representative-91 are listening.
If we don't choose differently, we will keep getting what we've got.

Y'all, please read the article. What's happening to our neighbors could easily happen to you - if it hasn't already.:

"In any case, if KYTC were to move on this project, word would have had to come from our state delegates, Sen. Jared Carpenter and Rep. Deanna Gordon. Now that there was federal funding, they would have to be the ones to procure state funds for the project, too. I tried but failed to make contact with either one of them."

"I also tried and failed multiple times by phone and by email to confirm that Gordon told Scott when he’d asked her to help him fight the road, that he was just being a NIMBY (“not in my back yard”). Lordy, if that is true, talk about tone deaf. Of course Scott is NIMBY. The road literally will be in his back yard."

CALL TO ACTION: Classified school employees are the lowest paid, last considered, and most disposable public employees in the state of Kentucky.

And I know why.

It's because there are loopholes in law and policy that fail to protect these critical public employees.

It's also because the 2017 Right to Work law stifled Classified public employees' bargaining power and thereby gave districts the perfect opportunity to abuse those legal loopholes.

Fayette County Schools has displaced 120 dedicated staff members, reduced an additional 115, and raised some serious concerns about union busting, favoritism, and infighting.

Madison County Schools has quietly ended tenured, experienced school safety officers' contracts and demoted staff without due process or even a paper trail to explain their loss of certifications and income opportunities -- but continue to train others to fill those same roles.

Both districts suffer from 10 years of the bad state budget decisions of our elected supermajority of legislators. But that is also no excuse. These problems are one in the same and echo across the state.

This is personal -- to me and to you -- as citizens, employees of all kinds, as parents, students, taxpayers, voters, union members, leaders, and casual observers.

Email me @ [email protected] or text 606-481-2610 to receive a personal invitation to discuss this topic in person.
