Weโ€™re co-hosting a talking circle with the Two Spirit Council of Baawating on Saturday, May 10th from 1-3pm at BMCCโ€™s Adikameg Hall.

The feast is potluck style, so we invite you to cook and share, but itโ€™s not required.

March 31 is Trans Day of Visibility ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ Honoring and uplifting our Two Spirit relatives is not just an act of support โ€” it is a return to our original ways and a vital part of re-Indigenizing our society.

"Now more than ever, we must not only celebrate our Two Spirit and transgender relatives but also actively counter disinformation, discrimination, and hate. Uplifting their voices, advocating for their safety, and restoring their rightful place in our communities is how we honor our ancestors and uphold our traditional Indigenous values of honoring all life."

Internationally, Trans Day of Visibility is observed on the 31st of March to recognize, and uplift, but also bring awareness to the harm, erasure, and stigma that disproportionately affects our Trans* and 2 Spirit relatives. On this day, we honour the strength, courage, and resilience of our 2 Spirit and Trans* relatives around the world, and thank them for their bravery in showing up as their true selves, and their continued resistance to colonial and imposed gender norms. This fight allows all of us to self-determine who we are as we walk in this world.
