(YAK IBOP IKONO), to the Executive chairman of Ikono Local Government Council Hon. NYAKNO UWEMEDIMO OKOIBU, congratulating him for his victory at the poll and His fatherly Love during IKONO SYMPOSIUM 2020, also thanked him for Appointing one of them, comrd. INIOBONG UDOM as SA on Student's Matters and Restoration of Electricity in major parts of Ikono.

PRESS RELEASE

Fellow compatriot, season greetings to you all.

After due consultation with major stakeholders, the organizers of "YAK IBOP IKONO" are pleased to notify the general public that the earlier announced event (Ikono Cultural Day) which was scheduled to hold on Wednesday 23rd December, 2020 is hereby postponed till further notice due to the lingering increase of Covid-19 cases and in compliance with the state Government directive with regards to social gathering.

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused as the event is not worth the Life of any Akwa Ibomite. We sincerely apologise for the sudden development even as we hope to host Ikono Symposium come 2021, please bear with us.

EXCERPTS FROM IKONO SYMPOSIUM 2020..Culled out points from the panelists and photos just to keep your memory fresh.

Yesterday, the epoch event which had gathered its stand in the media space witnessed the presence of the political class, Forum of Village Youth Presidents, Religious Leaders, Students and of course the good people of Akwa Ibom State, assembled themselves at Ikono Council Headquarters, Ibiaku Ntok Okpo, just for one purpose and the aim/objectives were channelled toward making Ikono a place of honour and not for ridiculous memes as naysayers would think.

Ikono people are educated, well disciplined, mannered to fit in the 21st century settings.
They can contribute meaningfully in building of our dear state and the country in general. We have Noble men and women whose work in their respective field of endeavours have placed food in not just their table but their employees, thereby creating employment opportunities for our teaming youths in the state. Take advantage of our natural resources and invest in Ikono Local Government Area, you won't regret you did.
