DILG Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla, together with Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Police Major General Robert Alexander A. Morico II, and BFP Chief Fire Chief Superintendent Wilberto Rico Neil A. Kwan Tiu, led the press briefing this morning, August 27, 2026, at the PNP National Headquarters Lobby, Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The briefing tackled the arrest of a Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel in connection with an alleged “slots-for-sale” scheme, along with updates on the shooting incident inside a school campus in Zamboanga City, recommendations on responsible fi****ms ownership, safety and safekeeping, and recent school threats.

A new chapter in leadership unfolded at Camp Crame as PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. led the Oath-Taking and Donning of Ranks Ceremony of four newly promoted star-ranked officers on August 28, 2026.

DILG Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla graced the ceremony, which formally recognized the promotion of PMGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, PMGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, PBGEN Fermoyle M. Meno, and PBGEN Christopher F. Olazo.

Their promotion marks not only a career milestone but also a greater responsibility to lead with integrity, professionalism, and commitment while strengthening the organization and delivering meaningful service to the Filipino people.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) held a Thanksgiving Mass on August 26, 2026, at St. Joseph Chapel, Camp Crame, Quezon City, to mark the first anniversary of PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. as Chief, PNP. The celebration brought together PNP officials, uniformed personnel, and non-uniformed personnel in thanksgiving for God’s guidance and blessings throughout the past year.

The gathering also provided an opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments, challenges, and milestones of the PNP under the current leadership, made possible through the collective dedication and commitment of its personnel.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., presided over the Retirement Honors for Police Major General Anthony A. Aberin on August 23, 2026, at the NCRPO Hinirang Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

The ceremony marked the culmination of PMGen Aberin’s years of dedicated service to the Philippine National Police and the Filipino people, as PNP key officers, family, friends, and colleagues gathered to honor his career, leadership, and contributions to the organization.

The activity was followed by a testimonial and thanksgiving lunch, providing an opportunity for colleagues and loved ones to celebrate his years of service and share their appreciation as he formally closes his chapter in active police service.
