In alignment with their Free State agenda, the NH GOP passed and Kelly Ayotte signed HB 1815—a new law that directly threatens our public schools AND will raise our property taxes (again!).

This bill changes what the state considers an "adequate" education, allowing them to pay less while forcing our towns to cover the growing gap.

That means one thing for families and homeowners:

👉 Either higher property tax bills or drastic cuts to the quality of our children's education.

This is exactly why over 30,000 Granite Staters stood up and spoke out last year—because they know this path leads to underfunded schools and squeezed household budgets.

Less state funding for our kids. More of the burden unfairly placed on you, the local taxpayer.

This isn't progress—it's a raw deal for our towns and our families.

For the past ~6 months, dedicated volunteers on our local boards and committees have been combing through budget lines. Working carefully to balance rising costs with what taxpayers can reasonably support.

These aren't just numbers on a page, but the very foundations of our community.

👮🏻 Safe neighborhoods we all deserve
🚦 Well-maintained roads we drive every day
🚒 Essential services that keep us safe and healthy

It’s been months of hard conversations, tough tradeoffs, and careful planning.

New Hampshire runs on the strength of its people. Grocery clerks, food workers, janitors, and retail staff keep our communities fed, clean, and functioning.

But a family of four in NH needs about $26/hour just to cover basic necessities like rent and food. 😧

And many dedicated workers are still stuck at or near the outdated $7.25 federal minimum wage.

That gap isn’t an accident—it’s a policy choice that holds local families back.

If you work hard, full-time, you should earn enough to pay for rent, groceries, and gas. That’s just common sense.

It’s time for a fair New Hampshire minimum wage that reflects the true cost of living here. When our working families succeed, New Hampshire succeeds.

Our New Hampshire hometowns are changing. Young adults, born and raised here, are being priced out of their own neighborhoods.

Our respected seniors, looking to downsize, are left with no affordable options.

Our everyday heroes—teachers, nurses, first responders, eldercare workers—are forced to commute long distances because they can't afford to live in the communities they serve.

This is the harsh reality of New Hampshire's housing crisis.

🚨 And yet, many lawmakers just voted to cut the bipartisan Housing Champion Program. 🚨

This program has been a lifeline, helping communities create much-needed workforce housing. It supports the very heart of towns like ours—the hardworking families that keep our schools, hospitals, and small businesses thriving.

❌ Cutting this program won't lower your taxes.
❌ It won't make housing more affordable.
😣 It will only make it harder for working families to stay here.

So, we must ask, who are our representatives truly serving?

Because it doesn't seem like they're looking out for the average people in our community.

Imagine a New Hampshire where every child can choose their school. Sounds ideal, right?

But let's look closer at HB 751, the open enrollment bill proposing this change.

When students leave their local school, the funding follows them. But the essential costs of keeping our neighborhood schools open—like heating, bus routes, and paying our dedicated teachers—don't just vanish.

This could force our towns to:

😖 Raise property taxes to cover the shortfalls
😖 Cut essential programs for our kids
😖 Cut staff and increase class sizes

And for the schools that gain students, it's not a simple win. More students without proper planning means:

😖 Bigger class sizes
😖 More pressure on our hard-working teachers
😖 Higher operational costs

Our public schools are the bedrock of our communities—governed by local taxpayers because we know what our children need best.

HB 751 threatens to destabilize this vital system, creating uncertainty for families and educators alike.

SB597 prohibits the public utilities commission from increasing the electric rate more than the rate of inflation.
