MINISTRY OF SPORTS AND RECREATION — SAVAII STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION
Fa'afetai tele lava, Savaii!
The Ministry of Sports and Recreation (MSR) successfully conducted its Public Stakeholder Consultation in Salelologa, Savaii on 20–21 April 2026, bringing together representatives from districts and villages across the island, alongside Government ministries with offices in Savaii.
The Consultation was officially opened by Hon. Seuamuli Fasi Toma, following an opening prayer by Rev. Asosili Suesue.
Over two engaging days, participants broke into groups to discuss and provide feedback on:
Day 1 — The six draft Sector Outcomes for the Sport and Recreation Sector Plan 2026–2031, aligned with PDS2
Day 2 — The Draft Sport and Recreation Bill
The sessions were interactive and energising, with Savaii voices sharing powerful insights on community sport access, infrastructure needs, traditional sports preservation, youth development, and inclusion for women and persons with disabilities.
MSR extends its heartfelt fa'afetai to all Savaii participants — village representatives, district leaders, Government colleagues, and community members — for your invaluable contributions. Your input will directly shape the final Sector Plan and Bill before they are submitted to Cabinet and Parliament.
Savaii's voice matters. Sport belongs to all of Samoa.
