Sharing through the press release for the launch of the Agriculture and Fisheries Sector Plan for the financial years 2022/2023 - 2026-2027. The development of the sector plan and its launch was funded under the SAFPROM project. A big appreciation to the World Bank and IFAD for co-financing this project which has allowed for the strategic direction of the Ministry for the next five financial years to be developed. Talofa Samoa, we have come full circle in our talk series this year with Eyespy Radio 87.5 - thank you for tuning in these last couple of months!

Yesterday on the panel we had MAF ACEO Dr Ramona Sulifoa, MGP Manager Auimatagi Luaiufi Aiono and Procurement officer Kerinina Leaupepe delivering an update on the SAFPROM Project including the highs, challenges and opportunities!

WATCH 📽️ the inspiring story of R&J Honey Producer and Beekeeping Trainer, I'umalo Clayton Simamao who is going the extra mile to help create a thriving honey bee industry in Samoa.

Having trained under the most experienced Beekeepers in Samoa, the humble 31 year old continues to grow his beekeeping operation while sharing his knowledge and time with aspiring and current beekeepers.

I'umalo Clayton will be accessing grant assistance through the World Bank Pacific funded SAFPROM Matching Grant Program for a beeswax extractor and large honey extractor to help boost the production and productivity of his agri-business.

Ending the year on a 'sweet' note, we'll be releasing the 6th and final instalment of the SAFPROM: Stories of Impact.

This Friday 9 December at 7pm, watch "Beyond Honey: The future of Beekeeping" featuring R&J Honey Producer and Beekeeping Trainer, Clayton Simamao. The 31 year old has a dream that goes beyond producing honey; he's on a mission to help grow the industry and show young people how fulfilling and fun it is to be a beekeeper!
