The Virgin Islands Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) advises the public that all offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on freedom, resilience, and progress.

Normal business operations will resume on Monday, June 22, 2026.

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE BMV 🚨

The USVI Bureau of Motor Vehicles is preparing to launch a new Driver Point System aimed at promoting safer roads and responsible driving habits.

Under this system, moving traffic violations will carry point values that are added to a driver’s record. As points accumulate, drivers may face increasing penalties, including fines, mandatory driving courses, license suspension, or revocation.

This initiative is designed to:
✔ Encourage safer driving
✔ Identify high-risk driving behaviors
✔ Improve roadway safety across the Territory

🚗✨ BMV Waives Late Fees for Online Renewals! ✨🚗

📍 BMV USVI – The Virgin Islands Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) is excited to share that from December 18, 2025 through February 16, 2026, all late fees will be waived for customers who renew their vehicle registrations online only at https://mybmv.bmv.vi.gov/.

This initiative makes renewing faster, easier, and more convenient—helping reduce wait times and encouraging residents to take advantage of secure digital services.

BMV Director Barbara Jackson-McIntosh explains:
“By waiving late fees for online renewals, we’re giving residents an incentive to use our digital services, avoid long lines, and manage their transactions on their own time from anywhere.”
