Kayla Menard Reaux is a lifelong resident of the city of Youngsville. As the daughter of former Youngsville Police Chief, Earl Menard, Kayla was raised with a deep sense of pride and service to her community. Kayla is a successful career woman who is vested in her community, and is eager to represent Division A. She believes that together we can build upon the foundation from which Youngsville beg
an and continue meeting Youngsville’s emerging priorities. Kayla knows firsthand just how special it is to live, work, and raise a family here. She has raised her 3 children, Brette, Kinley and Landon in Youngsville. Youngsville has helped give her children the foundation for a successful future. Her oldest, Brette recently received her bachelor’s degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude as a double major in Psychology and addiction studies at Northwestern State University. Kinley is a senior at Southside High school where she is a dual enrollment honor student, a varsity volleyball and soccer player, and National Honor Society. She was recently accepted into UL and LSU, where she plans to pursue her doctorate in OBGYN specializing in infertility treatment. Landon is a sophomore at Southside High School where he is also an honor student and a member of the varsity wrestling team. In addition to his accomplishments at Southside High School, Landon is an nine-time All American and four-time National Wrestling Champion. While she attributes her children’s successes to their own efforts and determination, it is Youngsville that has provided them with the environment to grow into their full potential. Kayla would like to think that beyond building a successful career in the finance industry, serving on the Youngsville Sports Complex recreation committee, and co-founding Youngsville’s 2nd Mardi Gras Krewe, Krewe la Vie Doux, there is still more she can offer her community; which is why she is announcing her candidacy for Youngsville’s Division A council seat. Kayla has a unique understanding of what it takes to grow her community. She will bring fresh ideas for economic development, lead efforts for a solid master plan for the city and attract investments to make downtown Youngsville a place recognized in the hearts of all citizens, young and old. Kayla's focus will be Fire and Police Protection, drainage and road infrastructure improvements, balanced and smart residential and commercial development, quality of life for our community, and preserving existing businesses and recruiting new business for a more diversified economy.
