The Mahoning County EMA is responsible for the mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery actions for all major emergencies and disasters; such as floods, tornadoes, chemical spills (roadway, railway and fixed facilities), blizzards, droughts, and terrorism. We are the lead county agency as established by the Board of Commissioners for Homeland Security funding, training and operations. We al

Every May, we pause to reflect and honor the memories of peace officers (May 15) and firefighters (first weekend in May) who have given their lives in the line of duty on their respective memorial days.

Up to an enhanced risk (level 3 of 5) of severe t-storms exists today. A disturbance may trigger isolated severe storms in NE OH and NW PA late this afternoon, before a strong cold front likely triggers scattered severe storms later this afternoon into the evening in northern OH and NW PA. Stay Weather Aware and have a way to get warnings and alerts on your phone!

As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week organized by OH Weather Awareness and Ohio Emergency Management Agency, the Mahoning County EMA will be participating in the state wide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 18 at 9:50 AM. The outdoor warning sirens and IPAWS will be activated.
