Attended the GVI - Group Violence Intervention York, PA community meeting at York City Campus/Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene: “Where We've Been. Where We Are. Where We're Going.”

Intrigued by what Samantha Dorm brought up about a federal grant, the Model Cities Initiative from the DOJ, that could be beneficial to the York Metro/Regional Area, that do not require a match, and that supposedly has an upcoming application deadline of September 1, 2026.

This morning, I witnessed the final process of the “Compassionate Clear-Out” Encampments Closure Initiative at Bantz Park. In addition to public service employees, several service providers were also in attendance to support those emerging from the woods. Excavator loaders and other heavy equipment was utilized by public works to remove trash and debris, along with other workers in white suits, plus police; sheriffs; and EMTs on location.
