A Nurse's Touch - Pam Gay for Coroner

A Nurse's Touch - Pam Gay for Coroner A page maintained by A Nurse's Touch -- Pam Gay for Coroner, the campaign committee of Pam Gay, RN D-ABMDI, York Co. Coroner.

Pam Gay has been York County's Coroner since January 2014. A Registered Nurse for 35 years, Pam has worked hard to redefine the role of the Coroner's office. Along with managing their death investigations, she has taken an active role in educating the community about the he**in and opioid epidemic. Her office continues to educate the community about the preventable epidemic of su***de, including t

een su***de. She helped establish the Coroner's office Compassion and Care Team - volunteers who work with the families in their bereavement after sudden and traumatic loss. This page will be used to keep Pam Gay's FB friends, family members and others interested in her campaign regularly updated regarding the reasons she is running for re-election as Coroner, her experience/qualifications, how her office can impact them and their family/friends in York County, ways in which volunteers can help on the campaign and/or with the committee and local events/happenings she plans to be involved in and attend.. I am a 55-year-old Registered Nurse from Springettsbury Township. I have been an RN for 35 years and have extensive experience in Critical Care and Emergency Nursing and have been self employed as a Legal Nurse Consultant (a form of Forensic Nursing) for more than 11 years and was also an RN on York Hospital's Forensic Nursing Team, caring for individuals impacted by the violence of child abuse, elder abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault. I also have an extensive educational, journalism and business background. Why I Ran for Coroner in 2013
Many people know that the coroner is responsible for pronouncing and investigating death and keeping death statistics, but I wanted to use my expertise and sensitivity -- A Nurse's Touch -- to take the role of coroner to a higher level in our community, especially when reaching out to survivors of loss and sudden death. My work with individuals impacted by violence enabled me to help them through some of the toughest times in their lives, and I wanted to implement those same skills as coroner in reaching out to those who have experienced sudden loss through death. While a coroner deals with death, much of the coroner's time is spent in helping the living. I had unique ideas and programs I wanted to incorporate, at no extra cost to taxpayers, that would show compassion in reaching out to those survivors long beyond their initial loss -- and we have done that with our CCT Volunteer Team.
