Retired Colonel, Dr. Pedro Antonio Casas, 62, is running for California's 38th Congressional District in the June 2026 primary. Casas was born in El Paso, Texas, to legal Mexican immigrants. He grew up in Baldwin Park, California.
Casa earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of La Verne and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, where he published research on cross-cultural counseling. His post-doctoral fellowship is in forensic psychology.
Casas served 29 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Colonel in 2023. His career included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, commanding medical units. He served as a division psychologist in South Korea and lead behavioral health departments in Honolulu and Washington, D.C. He's a licensed clinical, forensic, and aero-medical psychologist.
