03/06/2026

Beginning Friday, June 5th, 2026, Pennsylvania drivers may be cited for using a hand-held mobile device while driving under the state’s distracted driving law, commonly known as Paul Miller’s Law.

The law is named in memory of Paul Miller Jr., who was tragically killed in 2010 by a distracted driver. It prohibits drivers from using an interactive mobile device while operating a motor vehicle, including texting, scrolling, emailing, browsing, or otherwise using a hand-held device behind the wheel.

Beginning June 5th, officers will have the discretion to cite drivers who violate the law. A violation carries a $50 fine, plus court costs and other fees.

Please put the phone down, keep your eyes on the road, and help keep our community safe.

Good morning.... GREAT NEWS: we are moving forward with today’s Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony as planned.

After monitoring the weather closely overnight and reviewing the latest conditions this morning, it looks as though the weather is going to cooperate enough for us to proceed.

The parade will step off at 10:00 AM from Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center and travel through the Wyomissing Hills neighborhood, ending at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park.
We invite the community to come out, line the route, wave your flags, support our parade participants, and help us honor the true meaning of Memorial Day.

The Remembrance Ceremony will follow at 11:15 AM under the pavilion at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park.

Please dress accordingly in case we experience a quick shower, drizzle, or damp conditions during the morning.

Thank you for your patience and support as we worked through the weather. We look forward to seeing everyone this morning as we come together to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
