Maj. Gen. Winston "Phil" Brooks assumed command of the Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill in a ceremony on the Old Post Quadrangle July 20, 2023. Lt. Gen. Milford Beagle, Jr., commanding general, United States Army Combined Arms Center, hosted the Assumption of Command ceremony. Four former commanders of the FCoE and Fort Sill attended the event. The 2nd Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery Battery fired the salute to Brooks and the 77th Army Band, the Pride of Fort Sill, Big Deuce and Short Round, and the Field Artillery Half Section were also at the event. All participants did the pass and review in front of Brooks and his family.
