We're moving into a stretch where it will be hot not just today, but through the rest of the week. Cumulative heat risk over multiple days can be more concerning than over a single day.

Our first stretch of summertime hot and humid conditions arrives across the area this week.

Generally low chances for rain and storms early in the week gives way to greater coverage from Thursday onward into the upcoming weekend.

[6/7] 5:25 PM: Hot and humid conditions have return this afternoon across far southwest Oklahoma into western north Texas with a bit more sunshine. Heat index values are currently range from 100 to 104 °F in this region. This is a sneak peak of what's to come tomorrow with more widespread triple digit heat indices expected.

🌡️ HEAT ADVISORY MONDAY 6/8/26🌡️

A Heat Advisory has been issued for much of northwest and western Oklahoma from 1 PM to 7 PM Monday.

Heat index values could reach 108°, making it feel much hotter than the actual air temperature. Counties included are Kingfisher, Garfield, Grant, Alfalfa, Blaine, Dewey, Major, Woods, Woodward, and Custer.

⚠️ Hot temperatures combined with high humidity can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses.

Please remember:
💧 Drink plenty of water
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned buildings when possible
☀️ Limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the day
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Check on elderly relatives, neighbors, and anyone without adequate cooling
🐶 Make sure pets have plenty of water and shade

If you must be outside, take frequent breaks and know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
