Fender wheel‑well steel doesn’t tear, rip, or peel the way older vehicles did. You need to size up the structure and understand how the metal is formed. Sometimes you can force the welds to fail and let the pieces separate. Other times, you’ll be nibbling your way through with the cutters until you create a workable separation.

🚒BMW iX Body Structure — Multi‑Material Carbon Cage 👈

➡️The BMW iX uses a hybrid Carbon Cage structure that blends aluminum, high‑strength steels, and carbon‑fiber‑reinforced plastic (CFRP) to maximize rigidity, crash performance, and weight efficiency. The main passenger cell is built around a high‑strength steel safety shell, while large aluminum castings form the front and rear load paths. CFRP is strategically applied in the roof frame, side frame reinforcements, and rear sections to reduce mass while increasing torsional stiffness.

The Mercedes‑AMG SL’s body structure is a masterclass in modern vehicle construction — a lightweight aluminum composite shell engineered for maximum rigidity and crash‑energy control. For us, it’s a prime example of mixed‑material architecture (aluminum, magnesium, steel, and carbon fiber). Reinforced zones, bonded joints, and high‑strength alloys.
