While the outcome wasn’t what I hoped for, I’m grateful for the chance to show my children what it means to lose with grace.

My commitment to serve hasn’t changed. I’ll run again wherever I can be most helpful, and I’m eager to see how this new board leads.

Fourteen years of raising a family here puts Election Day in perspective. Today is a snapshot of our community and the more of us who participate, the better and more representative that snapshot becomes.

My family and I attend every year, and this year will be no different. It’s one of the many great events that Winnsboro puts on.

Make sure you don’t miss this and while you’re at it get down to the civic center to vote on May 2nd.

If we win our seats (Walpole, Duffey, Tiner, and myself), what I most look forward to is hearing directly from teachers and administrators.

I want to hear their perspectives on what they need to be successful and how, in turn, we can help the district be more successful overall.

My hope is that, if the dominoes fall the right way, they’ll feel empowered to speak up.

I’m still not convinced that any of us have enough votes to win, but I am more optimistic than I was at the beginning.
