Ya'at'eeh, it's official ... the New World Screwworm (Tséʼédǫ́ʼii bichʼosh naʼayąʼii) has been detected in the United States in Texas and New Mexico, and will likely continue spreading north. Please be aware of the risks of screwworm, how to identify it and who to contact if you think you've seen it. We've attached some important documents with this information so you can help us with surveillance in the field. If you see either the adult fly or an infection with maggots that could be New World Screwworm, please take *clear photos* if possible.
