ICE activity in Stamford has left families afraid to send their kids to school, go to work, or even open their own front door.
No one in our community should have to live like this. The Stamford legislative delegation stands with our immigrant neighbors, and we will keep standing with you. If you or someone you know has been impacted, please know this: you have the right to remain silent and to speak with an attorney, you do not have to share your immigration status or place of birth, you should never sign something you don’t understand without a lawyer, and you can ask ICE agents to show a warrant before opening your door.
For more resources, reach out to Building One Community, the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights project, or the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants. Please share this with anyone who may need it.
Our immigrant neighbors are part of Stamford. You have rights. You are not alone.
