Not too long ago the Fatguys went down to Mohegan Sun and while there we gave Bobby's Burgers a try. Now while we know this is a chain... One might assume that anything with a fabulous chef's name on it would produce high quality food and strong concerns to food safety. Our experience stated well with a misleading strong concern to a food allergy when we were discussing what we were considering ordering moments later we ordered and they tried to to have the allergens in the order. Also it is never a good sign when the cooks don't know ingredients in their food. The prices seemed to be fair if slightly high but considering the location elevated prices are sadly expected... until we go the food. First up were the bacon 🥓 cheese 🧀 fries 🍟 for $8.99. These were a small portion of cold soggy chewy seemingly not fully cooked clearly a formerly frozen fries bag and were pretty terrible. The cheese was a low quality nacho cheese like you would expect and a gas station ⛽️. The bacon pieces were few and overcooked however at least they were real. Next were the $6.99 onion 🌰 rings. In the same discussion about and allergy they then gave us a sauce with the allergen in it causing issues. Luckily the amount consumed was exceptionally small. The rings were cold siggy inside and very thick on batter that was crisp and just fell apart. The batter was seasoned pretty good however it was difficult to consume. Then there was the $12.99 palace burger 🍔. Now when you ask a cook level and you even key it into your order system wrong that's not a good start. The burgers were very small and the buns were soggy and squished. The lettuce and tomato 🍅 had that dirty texture as if it had not been rinsed. The pickle was minimal and not particularly juicy. The Bobby's sauce was little more than a few premade sauces mixed together. A burger this poor and small for this price is absurdity. The last item was the $13.99 Brunch burger.
This burger 🍔 had overcooked and seemingly microwaved cold bacon 🥓, a cold over easy eggs 🥚 that had a rubbery microwaved texture. It also had low grade American cheese 🧀. This burger was cold and highly disappointing. The burger was also massively overcooked and while cold still had the burnt texture over a rubbery inside and the signs of a frozen low quality patty near the end of its time. Overall a particular fast food chain makes less pathetic food and doesn't nearly charge as much... How did mister Flay get such a good reputation if this catastrophic is what his name represents. So knowing our metrics.... quality.... less than none... portions... poor.. price... poor.... service dangerous... they score 0 FATBELLIES as a rating and I cannot think of a reason I would ever trust any cooking with Bobby's name on it ever again. Recently the Fatguys went out to 380 Main St, Sturbridge, MA 01566 to try Wicked Licks. This ice cream shop is sadly seasonal and in a weird col de sac. The portions were not enormous however the pricing was fair. The staff was exceptional and helpful and even made sure our puppy ice creams were as cold as possible when we left to make the dogs 🐕 happy. He was also very patient and considerate of a low blood sugar diabetic not functioning well. We ordered 2 human sundaes 🍨 and 2 for the dogs. The first was a single peppermint stick. This had strong peppermint sent and flavor and was exceptionally rich. They advertise a really low air ratio so the ice cream is thicker. It was difficult to scoop with a spoon 🥄 and very noticeable however that elevated the paletted texture and flavors. It was rather good. The next one we did was two scoops and we picked two flavors mostly due to inability to decide between between a few. The first was a very deep in contradicting flavors blackberry lemon bar flavored ice cream. The blackberry was tart and subtle. The lemon 🍋 was very strong borderline overpowering. The bar par represented by pound cake was subtle but made a good crunch to the ice cream. The last flavor was the Yippie Skippy Peanut 🥜 Butter. This had peanut butter flavored ice cream 🍦 with sweet and tart salted caramel swirled into it. It also had brownie bits sparsely throughout along with chocalate covered pretzel bits. This was quite good however the lemon from the other scoop overpowered it. We very much enjoyed our experience here. Recently the Fatguys went out to Heritage State Park Building 3, 1 Furnace St, North Adams, MA 01247 to finally try THE freight Yard Pub. Not only is finding the parking lot difficult but so is finding the restaurant in the dilapidated historic buildings once there. Once inside we got attended to quickly but sporadically.
First we had the 18 piece wings for a heafty
$27.00.
We picked 2 sauces and thank goodness we did.
The first were allegedly tossed in garlic parmesean sauce. None of the windows were hot 🔥. The wings were weird. At first they were very hard and dry almost plastic. Once we found the sauce underneath and scooped it on to them they softened and became rather rice in a. Way like hard dry sponge 🧽 wet. The sauce had real minced garlic and strong parmesean flavor. It was exceptionally good. The wings were fairly meaty and cooked through however without the sauce they were inedible. The buffalo wings..... we'll we couldn't really find the buffalo. They had the same dry hardness and lacked any noticeable flavor. Luckily there was still some of the garlic to be used. The celery and blue cheese came with it however the celery was soggy and limp as if it had been microwaved with leftover chicken wings. Honestly the garlic parmesean sauce was the only thing we would go back for. Last was the Black Diamond Burger 🍔 for
$18.99. They served a highly overcooked
homemade sirloin beef burger mixed with our black diamond recipe which had some nice flavor and was made up of soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and mixed into the burger.
We had smothered melted cheese 🧀 , slughtly wilted lettuce, and a thick tomato 🍅 slice. The bun was also very plain. This was served with fries.
The 🍟 fries were a thinner style but exceptionally hard and cold. They also were saltess 🧂 and flavorless. We would not eat them again. If we had been served just the black diamond 💎 sauce and garlic parmesean sauce and nothing else this would have been a world be**er but with the food, prices per portions, and quality, of the actual food is considered this comes in at 0.5 FATBELLIES as a rating. 52 Palmer Rd, Brimfield, MA 01010. We have tried to get in for years and finally did. Be prepared they are often beyond crowded. We soon learned why! The first order was a 4 set of traditional thick French toast for $11.50 there were puffy, moist, thick, balanced cooling throughput the slices, and paired witha local natural syrup. These were filling and served pretty hot but could have been a little hotter. This was a great plate 🍽 and a slightly high but reasonable pricing. We then ordered a side of sausages and a side of bacon 🥓.

The sausages were skin coated local style breakfast sausages. They had a great meatless and were cooked evenly.
Next entree was a different style of friench toast that had a bourbon and banana 🍌 syrup. Similar bread and portion but these were rish, sweet, and had much more depth of flavor. These were one of the top 3 best French toasts we have ever had at any restaurant. We tried to see about buying that syrup but were not successful.
We were a little confused about one thing and excuse our ignorance please. The coffee was out almost like a self service however we asked of we could get a few cups of coffee and the waitress seemed confused and made a statement further implying it was self serve. Someone please verify for us and the audience.
The blueberry muffin and chocolate 🍫 croissant were somehow the low point. The top on the muffin was not significantly different nor clearly sugar topped for that nice crisp top. It was moist and filling and a good size but could have been so much more. The croissant was a little too tough but had a good chocolate filling. Overall this was a great showing and we encourage you to give them a try. They earn 4 FATBELLIES as a rating. Fair not inexpensive pricing, good portions, mostly exceptional quality, and welcoming good service. We almost dismissed them for good after 2 bad show ling from staff in the past where we never ever got to the food part and they showed lack of concern for medical conditions. Recently, the Fatguys went to do a very unusual review... BEFORE I START THIS REVIEW, I WILL REITTERATE ALL FOOD SERVED AT AN ESTABLISHMENT IS REVIEWABLE. Everything we had today does not quite align with the restaurant's name or beginnings. That said, this was a very unusual experience. This will be discussing Old Sturbridge Pizza 🍕 located at 392 Main St, Sturbridge, MA 01566. First, the staff was beyond friendly and made us feel special. They also told us the story about how the events that followed came to pass. That said, we were saddened like they didn't open up the dine in or pool table area much anymore.

The chicken broccoli 🥦 Alfredo was a good size portion and came with garlic bread 🍞. The bread was essentially a grinder roll and was hot and pretty good; however, we did wish they had done it as garlic cheese 🧀 bread. The Alfredo, while not fettuccine being closer to a spaghetti, was still exceptional but would have been better with the other pasta choice. The sauce was creamy if a little watery but plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It did have a lot of broccoli 🥦 florets, so keep that in mind. For $17, this was definitely a great meal with a lot of food for your dollar. The garlic Naan was exceptional, though we did end up adding our own garlic butter 🧈 to add that extra moist garlic bit. It was hot and soft, and we were one of the better naans we have had. Last but not least was the Tikka masala. This was $19.95. We met the people who ran the restaurant and they had us talk to the chef... We discussed wanted a higher s**c level. The chicken was tender and plentiful; the basmati rice portion was large, delicious, and not too sticky. It came with a came with a standard side salad 🥗. The salad was generic, not bad, and appreciated, however not special. The TIkka Masala sauce was a little more watery than most. I must say I greatly appreciate it when restaurants try to cater to special requests. When speaking to the chef and staff, I asked how s**cy they could make it. I encouraged a much higher level. Here is a Fatguy tip .... If you just make it s**cier, you need to balance a flavor as well. Also, if you try to go hot for hot sake with a Fatguy, you gotta go hotter. It was good, but the texture and flavor depth was slightly sacrificed, and the s**ce heat was not particularly high by our standards. That said, everyone has their own, so take that into consideration. We thoroughly enjoyed they plate 🍽 and encourage you to try their dishes. This was a very pleasant and reasonably priced and portioned surprise close to home, where dining variety is rather limited. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE THEM TO KEEP THE INDIAN QUISINE COMING! It is not available every day yet so keep that in mind when ordering check first. Overall we loved the staff, respected the pricing, liked the portion sizes, and enjoyed the food. We look forward to our next time there very soon. THEY SCORE 4.5 FATBELLIES AS A RATING. Last week, the original fat guy that inspired this page took a lot of your advice and tried the hot dog ranch in Pittsfield, MA. I struggle to review long-time local establishments because people can never see bad. Well, unfortunately, this was bad. I was in Pittsfield for work and had an hour. When you first walk in, there is no sign to either wait to be seated or seat yourself. Since nobody came over, I sat myself. Someone brought me a menu but was much more interested in people ( I assume regulars) yelling out to run their Keno numbers. Just so you know, the timeline I was in my seat menu in hand at 12:08. After about 10 minutes, someone took my order. 2 plain hot dogs and mozzarella sticks and a coke. At 12:50 I got my food. ate on little tiny mozzarella stick put some crappy ketchup that was on the table on the hot dogs and took 2 quick bites as i had to get back to work.The mozzarella stick was like 1 inch and was ok i guess. The hot dogs were these little mini hot dogs served not on a new england style hot dog roll but like a mini grinder roll. The hot dog had good snap to it but tasted average at best. Institution or not The Hot Dog Ranch gets 1 fat belly. 2 more minutes without being served would have been 0 fatbellies because I would have left. You can try them for yourself at 114 West Housatonic St. give yourself an hour and a half to get a couple of hot dogs, although I wasn't a regular, so maybe they get served faster.please feel free to check out their links below...

Next is a tale on how not to run a bar and restaurant. The Fatguys were attending an excellent concert at The Roadrunner and decided to sample a nearby location prior...... This was not a particularly wise move. Broken Records Beer Hall, located at 85 Guest St, Boston, MA 02135, was the facility in question. Let's start at the beginning.... No physical menus, no waiters, ordering on a website with a qr code and then having to go leave the table and get drinks only to possibly lose our table in the meantime is absurd. The drink prices made Fenway look cheap as well. Service was slow and pretty terrible, but this only came after paying up front and having pre tip shoved on us.... We ordered several things, and it took a very long time so much so that one of our parties walked back to the car to get other shoes 👞 and came back, and it still wasn't ready. We started with their $13 Beer Hall Pretzels. There were very few and came with a lot of borderline watery Beer cheese 🧀 which we were great full for later. None of the food was hot, warm, or exceptable, and honestly, I would have sent it back if there was a way or a person.... The pretzels had a thin venir of a crust and a puffy inside. They were standard and would have been good if hot, had thicker cheese, and were not so few in number.
Next was an order of Parmesan Truffle Tots for
$12.00. These
Baked Tots were allegedly tossed in Truffle Oil, which we saw no evidence of, then there was a monecum of rosemary and a trace of parmesan cheese 🧀 . They were served with a paper thin level of 🍋 lemon rarlic aioli in what could be described ad the world's smallest solo dip cup. Luckily, these room temperature Tots could be dipped in the leftover beer 🍺 cheese 🧀 .
Last was an order of their Pepperoni & Hot Honey Pizza 🍕 for
$15.00. They claim it has
Rich tomato 🍅 sauce it was more a mix of flavorless paste.
Then their was the borderline one rubber piece low quality melted mozzarella cheese which moved around on top of the smeering of the aforementioned paste. They thin put a minimal amount of sliced slat style peperoni. There was a subtle taste of 🍯 hot honey, which made this tasty despite the issues above and the crust...... The crust was thin doughy and crisp and, at the same time, as a gas station pie. ⛽️ We would eat more because of the hot honey .... it made this somehow tasty. Also, the bill and prices did not match their menu prices.... nor did they add up.... But who do you ask.....? That's highly questionable and suspect. Recently, the Fatguys went to 50 Kendrick Ave, Wellfleet, MA 02667. This near ocean location is home to The Bookstore Restaurant, bookstore below oneside that was dark cramped and disheveled, and a bar below the other side of the structure run by the same people. There was a wait weird for a place that wasn't filled; however, the staff was not trained to a standard of opporations, dress code, or knowledge. Likely, this had something to do with the wait. The layout itself of the structure was as confused and disheveled as most of the staff. It was clean but up down left right without order or planning. On the way in, the hostess was dressed in waiters, a miss sized hat , a massive dirty shirt, and jean shorts falling off. she was also uncouth and gruff. Then on the way to our seats we went upstairs once there while walking to our seats a waitress walked straight into me almost knocking me over and didn't apologize just went behind a supply table hung out and played on her phone for 28 minutes.
Our actual waiter as well as a. Buss boy and a waitress were covering table on 2 floors(yes, there were other waiters downstairs there too; they were enough understaffed), and he was bouncing between tables for a while not accomplishing much. The effort was exceptional as wad the attitude. For example there was a large party near us he took half of their orders went downstairs went to another table then another then brought our drinks then went back to the big table before completing taking their order all while the apparently more senior waitress watched from that storage bar table. There also was a flooring situation near that bar table, and our waitor fell on it and hit his head on it! Every CUSTOMER reacted with concern; she did not. He then settled into a rhythm, took our orders, and checked regularly built a great connection with the customers myself, including we bonded. Over playing hockey 🏒 and growing up in a different part of the state. Let me be clear: HE WAS EXCEPTIONAL. BOOKSTORE IF YOU READ THIS GIVE HIM SUPPORT AND A MASSIVE RAISE!
We started with the artichoke Dip for a very high
$18.00. It had plenty of
spinach, a crust of breadcrumbs on top creamy cheese, and plenty of toasted pita to dip. The dip was plentiful, memorable, and absolutely delicious. We liked the pita twist, and they were soft, airy, and puffy. This was a very different take on the dish, and we must say if you haven't tried it here, you must! Next was their $25 clam strip platter.
The clams were tender, and the batter was just a little too soft for me. They were rather good, just not quite as seasoned or crispy as I prefer. That said, they were meaty, fresh, and good enough where I couldn't stop eating them even when full. The fries 🍟 were straight cut and relatively thick, but not overly, so they had a clear outer later but were not overtly crispy.
The cole slaw had most of the right ingredients but would be better with a hint more seasoning and mayonnaise. This was a very solid plate 🍽 but make sure to add salt to the fries when you get them. A few tweaks, and this would be a real contender for the best clam strip plate. The portion was also a little too small to the price ratio or compared to competitors.
Last but not least was the $20 chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. The sandwich 🥪 was about the size of a 1/4 burger 🍔. The bun was toasted perfectly and added a layer of buttery flavor and crisp texture and the depth of a brioche bun. The grilled chicken 🐔 was exceptionally tender. The ham was good and plentiful. That said, even the sweet honey mustard stood second fiddle to overwhelming Swiss, which was fresh, delicious, smothering, and truly made this sandwhich one of a kind. This sandwhich should be on their year-round menu and honestly a highlight. We have never had a grilled chicken sandwich that came close to this good before. It was served with the same fries as well. We will finish this off with saying a couple key points; our waitor was very much the right attitude and effort and the rest of the staff should learn from him, the few food notes were seasoning based and crisp level, and organization is key. Also, on our list of Cape Cod Special, we went to 335 Commercial St, Provincetown, MA 02657 to the The Squealing Pig Provincetown. 🐖 we have gone by this crowded joint too many times and never stopped in either due to the slightly warn facade, the lines, or the less seafood focused menu as we sometimes get focused on seafood while on the Cape. While the wait did take a little bit of time, and it was incredibly crowded to the point where I could barely move to even grab my food, it was an endearing experience. The waitress/bartender was one of the most interactive, friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about her craft I have seen in a great many years. I am going to date myself alittle but between her and the host they made it like Cheers where everyone knew your name and you almost felt like you'd gone there every day for years and everyone else had somehow as well. There was a special spark, to be sure. Drinks 🍸 🍹 were almost instant but in a way like she knew what you were going to order, even offering suggestions based on food queries. The big negative I had was that the two plates I really wanted were seasonal and only to the cold months, sadly. Everywhere offers a burger 🍔, 🍕 pizza, or seafood in Provincetown or on the Cape in general.
After a few misses, the waitress checked some food allergy concerns for us, and we ordered the hog burger 🍔. This comes with tender Chipotle onions 🌰, delicous chewy 🥓 bacon, crisp lettuce, juicy 🍅 tomato, and creamy blue cheese 🧀. This burger was cooked a little more than we like, but it was still moist. It was a medium-sized burger and had a toasted nice plain brioche bun. It was very tasty and very filling; however, even with the crispy medium thickness 🍟 fries, the price was rather high. $22.45 is a little obsord for a burger and fries. It was all very good taste and quality if slightly overcooked and slightly too small. Overall, the squealing pig 🐖 earns an exceptional 4.5 FATBELLIES rating. Recently the Fatguys went to 1077 Main St, Chatham, MA 02633 to try TK's Sports bar. Honestly one particular unusual item got our attentionhowever I shall get to that a little bit later... let's start with the obscene wait.... and hour and twenty seven minutes for appetizers is completely unacceptable. It pushed way past their estimates which were already ridiculous. When we tried to find out why the rest of the restaurant was almost completely empty and they had a plethora of staff. The staff were all in back in the kitchen playing with their phones and painting their nails 💅! I mean this is insane. Also having a tip and payment before pickup is insane as well. We especially loathe forced tipping or tipping up front as it is a gratitude and to be earned. Before you jump down my throats I worked in the food service industry and several other gratuities based jobs you do very well if you do your job! Our food Cape out very cold almost as if it had been in the refrigerator. We ordered the loaded nachos to start. Not only were they stale and soggy but they were melted into a paper liner and rubbery as if microwaved. They were allegedly topped with Pico de Gallo however this was a tiny portion in a plastic container on the side. There was none of the alleged sour cream. The "cheese blend" 🧀 was closer to a resin. The ground beef was sporadic and dry. We tried eating it but after peeling pieces of paper out we had to put in in the overnight as is was temping under room temp under 4 minutes from being taken out of the oven as they claimed and had made us water in person for half and hour after waiting an hour before the pick up due to ordering ahead and them claiming it'd be ready in 35 minutes then 45, then 55 , than....... this dish was massive however for the first time in my life I wish it wasn't it was a waste. It cost $13 which would be great if it had been established, hot, or qualitative. Next we got the reason we came here. We ordered 2 of the $7 clam empenadas. These clam empenadas almost tasted like a clam chowder pot pie 🥧. The crust was flakey and airy. The clams were tender. The empenada was a standard size. It was served with a hint of warmth to it. With was served with a dry bland mango salsa in a tiny portion and an equally tiny portion of delicous Chipotle aioli. This would have been amazing if the sauces were larger in potion and the dish was hot. Overall the service was so slow I literally drove from Provincetown and not only beat their original time quote but then went to the cottage showered changed watched a TV show and it was still not ready... the service on restaurant was even worse as the customers were clearly the last thing on their minds. Those nachos made us excited with the large portion until we found the paper blended in and horrible quality and even worse cold status. They score 1 FATBELLY due to these things.
