Derby Public Schools is embracing innovation and partnership with the launch of its new Elementary Homeschool Discovery Classes for the 2026-2027 school year!

Cost is a one-time $75 enrollment fee for the entire year. More information, including how to enroll, will be available in July 2026. Days/times vary by grade level and schools with space available. Non-resident students accepted.

What an incredible evening! Our Class of 2026 High School Senior Night at the McConnell AFB Youth Center was a huge success! 🎓

It was such an honor to celebrate our amazing military and base-affiliated graduating seniors.

Hearing each of them stand up and share their plans for the future was truly inspiring. Whether they are heading off to college, starting tech school, or raising their right hand to serve in the military, these young men and women have bright futures ahead of them!

A massive thank you to everyone who made the night so special:

Lt Col James Thompson (22 ARW Contracting Squadron Commander) for joining us to perform a very special coining ceremony to recognize Ayva Frizzell, the 2026 Kansas Military Youth of the Year! Congratulations, Ayva—so well deserved!

Lt Col Thompson also delivered great closing remarks, encouraging our graduates to always do their best. He took a heartfelt moment to express how much we, as parents, truly appreciate these kids and the unique sacrifices they have made growing up in military families.

MSgt Joseph Lindgren for delivering such great words of encouragement and wisdom.

Thank you to all the families—across all branches, active duty, Guard, Reserve, retirees, and our civilian federal employees—for coming out to enjoy the food, the raffle prizes, and the great company. We are so proud of this community.
