This Memorial Day weekend, we’re taking time to honor those who have served and those who continue to lead.

Join us this Sunday in Wichita for an afternoon rooted in service, leadership, and community.

We will be at Fairmount Coffee with special guest remarks from local leaders, veterans, and public servants, including State Rep. KC Ohaebosim, who is running for Lieutenant Governor with Cindy Holscher, State Senator Silas Miller (a USMC Veteran 🇺🇸), Retired USAF Colonel Chris Carmichael candidate for Kansas’ 4th Congressional District and Wichita Public Schools Board Member Sheila Kinnard.

As we reflect on service and sacrifice this Memorial Day weekend, we also look ahead with hope - toward a Kansas where leadership means showing up, listening, and putting people first.

Over the last several days, I’ve received many calls and messages from Democrats across Senate District 25 and Sedgwick County asking me to throw my hat into the ring to replace Senator Mary Ware.

I’ve loved my time serving in the Kansas House and getting to know Sen. Ware both as a colleague and a human. She is a fantastic person and I know that she has big shoes to fill.

After a lot of contemplation, I’ve decided to announce that I intend to seek the nomination to represent Senate District 25 at the upcoming convention.

Over the next few weeks, I hope to meet with each of the precinct committee persons in Senate District 25 to hear about what’s important to them and earn their support.

I look forward to this exciting opportunity!
