The Democratic Party of Wichita County unequivocally condemns political violence in every form.
In June of this year, the Democratic Party also experienced loss due to political violence in Minnesota. We understand how terrible and unnecessary these deaths are, and our hearts go out to Charlie Kirk's family.
Though we may have disagreements, we do not believe anyone deserves to die because of them.
Change must be made in the hearts of America. Democrats and Republicans may have a rivalry, but that does not mean we are enemies.
We are humans. We are neighbors.
We are Americans.

📣📣📣 UPCOMING EVENT JULY 17 📣📣📣

What: GOOD TROUBLE LIVES ON: Wichita Falls

When: Thursday July 17th

Where:
Martin Luther King Early Learning Center
1100 Smith St
Wichita Falls, TX 76301

About this event:
Come celebrate the life and work of the Honorable Congressman John Lewis at the MLK Center in Wichita Falls, TX , with an evening of speakers, experiential learning, and a candelight vigil. This Non-Partisan community event is brought to you by a grassroots community Good Trouble coalition that believes in justice, voting rights, and dignity for all, as Lewis did.

Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.

On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.

From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.

This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.

Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.

Feeling overwhelmed by everything happening in the world? You’re not alone.
Rights are under attack. People are struggling. And let’s be real—things feel scary right now.

That’s why we’re creating space.

We’re in this together. 💙
