First Day of School, Tuesday, August 11th. Students will be picking up their materials, textbooks, and meeting their teacher on Monday, August 10th. Times vary by grade.

As stated in the update by our Superintendent, the East Whittier City School District is closing all schools out of an abundance of caution, beginning Monday, March 16th through April 3rd. However, Nutrition Services will continue to be a resource to students and families with children ages 18 and under, Monday through Friday during the dismissal.

Meals will be obtained through a drive-through service at designated locations to allow for maximum efficiency and safety. For students and families without vehicle transportation, a walk-up Grab & Go pick up method will be available. Children must be physically present for either method and do not need to exit the vehicle. All meals must be taken and eaten off site; there will be no congregating at these locations. Children do not need to be students of EWCSD to receive meals. There will be two service periods to maximize availability, and each child present will receive both a breakfast and lunch during pick up at either period to ensure access.

Time frames for this service will be 7:30am-8:30am, and 11:30am-12:30pm. Locations will be the main parking lots of the following schools: Evergreen, Hillview, Laurel and Mulberry.

We are happy to inform you that we are also collaborating with Whittier Union High School District’s Food & Nutrition Services Department to create broader access in the event members of the community without transportation cannot access the above locations. Meal service by WUHSD will be provided in the same fashion from 11:00am-12:30pm Monday through Friday March 16-20, and March 30-April 3. The location for WUSHD will be:
•Whittier High School (on Philadelphia Avenue near the student entrance between Whittier Ave and Lindley Ave),
•California High School (on Hawes Street in the parking lot near the loading dock of the school cafeteria),
•Santa Fe High School (enter on Orr and Day Road through the Faculty parking lot and exit near the student parking lot),
•Pioneer High School (on Benavon Street in front of the school where buses drop off),
•La Serna High School (on Youngwood Drive through the faculty parking lot), and •Sierra Education Center (on Mulberry Drive in front of building P – Central Kitchen).

Thanks for your continued support!! We are out of Jog-a-thon Shirts!! Woohoo! We will have some water bottles available for sale tomorrow during the jog-a-thon if you'd like to purchase them.
