I have been notified about several “rumors” that are going around regarding me. Please know that if you want to know something, or if you have questions- just ask. I will tell you the answers.
I hold onto the belief that the world has every potential to be good. I want to help people without all the political chaos. For some reason unknown, politics can bring out the worst in people. But if it takes bullying or tearing people down to obtain votes, then everyone will be disappointed in me. I will be who I am, and I will be honest. Something that I will not do, is be unkind. Why?, because i know how that feels. I know how i want to be treated. I know how i want my sons and daughters to be treated.
Where some people live by “Respect is earned”, I do not. I live by the standard that everyone deserves respect. To me, respect is unearned. I refuse to be mean. I refuse to carry hate. And I refuse to spew tales. Please, if there is something that you want to know, or need clarity on- just come to me.
The devil shows himself when we are at our strongest, and when we are at our weakest. But the devil should know by now, that I don’t bow to him and I don’t give into him. If what you want as a leader in your county is a bully- it isn’t me. I will ever apologize for being good to people or being helpful to people.
I will forever show grace, and I will forever be kind and polite. There is a difference in being assertive and being just plain ole mean. All I want is to be able to show the world that there are people who listen, and there are people who will be good to them, no matter the circumstances.
I will hold my head high, and I will treat you with respect. We all deserve that. I will raise my children to be good to people and to help those around them. I will continue to be strong, resilient, and will continue to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Anyone who knows me, knows that if I make a mistake or I do something wrong, I will take accountability, and I will tell on my own self. That is how we learn and grow in life.
I am who I am. My hope is that everyone will see that I can handle the mean part of the world. It took me thirty years to learn to love myself, to be comfortable in my skin, and to teach others to do the same. Thirty years to learn that other people’s opinion of me, is none of my business. I am okay with that because when I lay my head down at night, I know that I am not out here treating people badly, I am treating them with love and kindness. But, we are all human and everyone has made mistakes throughout life, including myself. I am fully open to sharing my testimony of how I got to today, how I got to be who I am right in this moment. I grew and I learned.
I am not going anywhere. I am still in this election. I am against seven other candidates who also deserve respect and whom have also experienced negativity and political drama just as well, and they are still pushing and still going. They are all seven great candidates and I still will continue to say, that they all deserve kindness and respect. I refuse to be negative to them or about them. They have all worked hard to be where they are, and I respect them so much for that. They are all strong and courageous for stepping up to serve our county. I don’t believe any of us will drop our heads. And THAT is the true strength and what our county needs.
