This is Ron’s son, Christian. It is with a heavy heart that I share some sad news.
My father, Ron Seman, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Thursday night.
Many of you have been calling and texting to check on him, and we are deeply grateful for your concern and friendship.
This group and everyone in it meant so much to him. It wasn’t just a page - it was a community. He loved introducing people to the Indiana Dunes, encouraging others to get outside, appreciate nature, and experience the peace and beauty that hiking can bring. Whether you joined him on a hike, shared a photo, asked a question, or simply followed along, you were a part of something that brought him incredible joy.
Thank you for being his friends. Thank you for helping him live out his passion and for allowing him to touch so many lives through his love of the dunes and the outdoors. The kindness, encouragement, and friendships he found here meant more to him than most of you probably realized.
While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and resting in a better place.
On behalf of our entire family, thank you for your prayers, your messages, and for making this community such an important part of his life.
We know he would want everyone to keep getting outside, keep exploring, keep appreciating the beauty of the Indiana Dunes, and keep sharing that love of nature - and love of life itself - with others.
Information regarding services/Celebration of Life will be communicated once those details are finalized.
