ELECTION DAY IS HERE!

From my early days working in the New York Mills and New Hartford Highway Departments to my time patrolling the streets of Whitestown and New Hartford as a police officer to my years battling fires as a Utica firefighter, serving and giving back to my community has always been important to me.

I’ve aspired to be Whitestown Highway Superintendent for a long time because I can’t think of a better way to continue to serve the community I love so much. I want to put the many skills and lessons I’ve learned over the years to good use; I want to work for you.

Our campaign journey started in January with one primary goal - to give the people of Whitestown a choice for the first time in nearly three decades. And - I’m proud of the campaign we’ve run. We’ve been nothing but positive and focused on the issues that matter most to you. We can always do better. And meeting and hearing from so many of you over the past several months will help me do just that. Whitestown is bigger than any one person.

As your Highway Superintendent, I will go above and beyond to serve you, make improvements and work with others. I will be a team player, approachable and proactive. Everything I do will be with you, the taxpayer, in mind and what’s best for Whitestown.

The outcome is now in your hands. I would be honored to have your vote.

As Whitestown Highway Superintendent, Scott will work hard and always be a part of our community - because for Scott, it’s our community that matters most.

It’s not about the title or paycheck; it’s about helping others and making a difference.

Scott will work with others, plan effectively, spend responsibly and go above and beyond because he’s in it for the right reasons and Whitestown is more important than any one person.

Last night, I was given the great opportunity to be one of the judges for the Yorkville Fire Department Annual Halloween Costume Contest! Mother Nature did not cooperate for trick or treaters this year, but I am blessed to be apart of this organization which provides a safe, fun and family-oriented Halloween event. This evening, I attended the 5th Annual Mastrovito Hyundai Trunk or Treat. It was an incredible family-oriented event that recognizes appreciation for our area's volunteer fire departments. Our local First Responder Retention and Recruitment committee set up a station and gave away Halloween candy, fire helmets and coloring books. This committee represents Yorkville, Whitesboro, New York Mills, Maynard, Deerfield and Schuyler Fire Departments. Despite the weather, it was an extremely successful evening with a great crowd!

Earlier today, I was presented with a New York State Assembly Certificate of Recognition from Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon in honor of “First Responders Day,” which is celebrated annually on October 28.

I am beyond humbled to have been nominated and be among a select few to be recognized.

The brotherhood and sisterhood of the fire service is much bigger than any one person. I am extremely thankful for my many years of service at the Utica Fire Department and opportunity to return to my roots at the Yorkville Volunteer Fire Department to serve as Assistant Chief. Above all, I am grateful for the chance to serve and protect my community.

Being a first responder is not easy, but there is no better feeling than helping someone in a time of need.

I will bring that same level of dedication to the Whitestown Highway Department if given the chance to serve as your next Highway Superintendent.
