Hello Everyone!

Wanted to share a few public events I will be attending so you can come meet and chat if you would like! As more events are planned for September (which they will be-I am waiting on confirmation from a few) I will update this list. If you have somewhere you would like me to go, or have suggestions please let me know. Also know that I am up for meeting with any organization or group no matter what political association they may have. In between these events I will be knocking on doors. Feel free to feed me 🙂

Friday night (tomorrow) I will be at Tom's Hotdogs car meet (weather permitting).

Saturday I will be knocking on doors and delivering signs. If you would like to meet or would like a sign let me know!

Sunday I will be at the Treehouse in South Deerfield Cars and Coffee event. Just look for the white and purple Tbucket!

Tuesday 9/8 I’ll be at the Turners Falls Rod n Gun club at 6pm. This is not a public meeting but if you are a member I’d love to see you!

Thursday September 10 I will be participating in the parade in Greenfield for the fair kick off.

Saturday and Sunday I will be at the fair walking around. I will not have a booth set up-it was a little out of my price range for one! EDIT: I WILL HAVE A BOOTH BY THE COW BARN!!!!!!!! WOOHOO Stop by, say hi, grab a sign!!

Wednesday September 16 I will be holding a Meet and Greet at the Conway library from 3-5pm. This is open to anyone and everyone, very informal but I will have light refreshments.

Congratulations to Lora Wendoloski on her primary win! A hard fought race is never easy, and I wish her well as we head into November.

Now it’s time for all of us.

I’m running as an Independent because I don’t believe our towns should have to fit neatly into a political party’s box. We’re a pretty independent bunch out here in Western Mass, and I think our representation should be the same.

I’ve spent years working in our towns, our schools, our elections, our farms and our community. I know what it means to live here, raise a family here, work here, and care about what happens to our neighbors.

I’m not running to be somebody in Boston. I’m running to bring Franklin County with me to Boston. I promise to listen, show up, and work for the people of this district whether they vote Democrat, Republican, Independent, or don’t belong to a party at all.

The primary is over.

Now every voter gets a choice.

And I’m ready to get to work.❤️

Sometimes you just need to take a step back, listen, and do what feels right.

I’m so happy Frontier is taking another look at the decision about Staff Sgt. Gregory Belanger’s memorial plaque.

Greg was one of ours. He went to Frontier, grew up here, and was part of this community. His family simply wanted his plaque moved to the new scoreboard so his name could remain part of the place where he spent so much of his young life. That doesn’t seem like too much to ask.

His family deserves to be able to walk onto those fields and see his name. And someday, when a kid asks, “Who was Greg?” someone can tell them about the young man who grew up here and gave his life serving our country. That’s how we remember our own.

I’m glad folks spoke up. I’m glad people listened. And I’m glad there’s another chance to get this right.

Greg gave his life serving our country, we should make sure his memory stays right here at home. 🇺🇸❤️

Statement from Hale-Clapp VFW Post 3295

Hale-Clapp VFW Post 3295 would like to thank the Frontier Regional School Committee for reconsidering its previous decision and voting tonight to relocate Sergeant Gregory Belanger's memorial sign.

We would especially like to thank the extraordinary number of people who came out tonight in support of Greg and the Belanger family.

It was standing room only.

Greg's classmates and friends stood alongside fellow veterans, parents, graduates, and members of the community. Massachusetts VFW State officers were also present in support of the effort to preserve Greg's memorial.

Speaker after speaker stood before the Committee and expressed, in their own words, why this memorial matters and why Greg's service and sacrifice should continue to be publicly remembered.

Not a single member of the public spoke in opposition to relocating the memorial.

That overwhelming show of support mattered.

Most importantly, we recognize the Belanger family. For more than twenty years, they have carried Greg's memory and ensured that his sacrifice is not forgotten. Their request was never about creating a new memorial. It was simply about preserving the memorial that has stood at Frontier for more than two decades and allowing it to continue serving the purpose for which it was originally placed.

Tonight, the community made its voice heard, and the Committee ultimately listened.

As we said during tonight's meeting, someday a Frontier student may see that memorial and ask:

“Who was Sergeant Gregory Belanger?”

Because of tonight's decision, future generations will continue to have the opportunity to ask that question—and our community will have the opportunity to answer:

He was one of us. He walked these halls. He served his country. And he did not come home.

Hale-Clapp VFW Post 3295 looks forward to standing with the Belanger family and our community when Sergeant Belanger's memorial is placed in its new location and rededicated.

We thank Greg's family, his classmates and friends, our fellow veterans, the Massachusetts VFW State officers, and every member of the community who filled that room tonight, stood in support, and helped ensure that a promise made more than twenty years ago will continue to be honored.

Greg's memorial will move. His name and sacrifice will remain.

When you think of maple syrup, you probably think of Vermont, New Hampshire, maybe even Canada. But did you know maple sugaring has been part of Massachusetts history for hundreds of years and it’s still happening right here in Franklin County?

Long before maple syrup ever showed up on a pancake in a New England diner, Indigenous people were harvesting maple sap and turning it into sugar. That knowledge eventually became part of the agricultural traditions of the region.

And there’s a pretty amazing amount of work that goes into that little jug of syrup sitting in your pantry. It takes roughly 40 gallons of sap to make just one gallon of maple syrup. Those big old sugar maples that line our fields and stone walls are essentially little springtime factories. 🌳🍁

When we get those classic late winter days, cold nights and warmer days, the sap starts moving. Trees get tapped, sap is collected, and then comes the long process of boiling it down in the sugarhouse.

And if you’ve ever driven by a sugarhouse during sugaring season, you know that smell. Wood smoke and maple drifting through the cold air. That’s a Western Massachusetts smell. We sometimes forget just how much agriculture and history is tucked into the hills, farms and forests around us.

So this spring, if you see a sign for LOCAL MAPLE SYRUP, stop and grab a jug. You’re not just buying syrup. You’re supporting a farmer, a tradition, and a little piece of what makes home… home.

We are so lucky to have this right in our back yard.

After a long day of saving ducks and campaigning, I get to take a quick little ride through the fields with my sidekick Valkyrie before heading off to our welcome home/goodbye again dinner for my youngest son. ❤️

Long day, but an amazing one.

Days like today remind me exactly why I’m doing this. It’s the people, the community, the conversations, the time spent outside, and the chance to serve the place I call home.

I appreciate every single one of you who has put up a sign, stopped to have a conversation with me, shared a post, offered encouragement, or simply wished me well.

And even if you don’t have a sign in your yard, don’t talk with me, or we’ve never met just know this:

I’m in your corner 100%.

That’s what representing you should be about. Not being a politician above you, but being your neighbor, listening to you, and standing up for you.

Now, time to enjoy a little family time. ❤️

Working with Delta Waterfowl Connecticut River Valley Chapter and Northeastwildwoman and ADC to build predator proof duck boxes for Wood Ducks.

These boxes have an over 80% success rate in keeping eggs and hatchlings safe from predators.

Delta Waterfowl and ADC are two organizations I’m proud to work with.

Our work is about more than enjoying the outdoors. It’s about education, conservation, protecting wildlife and their habitats, and making sure future generations have the opportunity to experience the outdoors, too.

We believe in enjoying our natural resources ethically and responsibly-respecting the animals we pursue, the land we care for, and the traditions that connect people to the outdoors.

For me, conservation isn’t about choosing between people and wildlife but about being responsible stewards of both.

I’m proud to work alongside people who put that belief into action every day.
