🇺🇸 Happy 250th Independence Day, Weymouth! 🇺🇸

Two hundred and fifty years ago, our Founders began the Declaration of Independence with these words:

“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another… a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

Before declaring our independence, the Founders first explained why. They believed that the birth of a new nation deserved thoughtful reflection, principled conviction, and respect for history.

As we celebrate America’s 250th Independence Day, let us remember the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the men and women who secured our freedom and laid the foundation for the nation we call home. May we never take for granted the blessings of liberty or the responsibility each generation has to preserve them.

From my family to yours, I wish everyone a safe, joyful, and meaningful Independence Day.

Today, the Weymouth Public Schools Girls Rugby Team takes the field with a state championship on the line.

This team has represented Weymouth with determination, discipline, and pride all season long, and they have earned the opportunity to compete for a title.

On behalf of our community, I want to wish these outstanding student-athletes, their coaches, and their families the very best of luck as they take on Belmont in the Division 1 State Championship.

We are proud of everything you have already accomplished. Now go finish the job.

Great day at the Weymouth Cal Ripken Baseball Opening Day ceremonies!

It was an honor to recognize Ron Rizzo for more than 40 years of unwavering commitment to Weymouth youth and the game of baseball. His impact on generations of players and families is truly something special.

Even better was seeing the incredible turnout of young athletes and families who came out to celebrate the start of the season. Days like this are what community is all about, kids, families, and volunteers coming together around something positive.

Wishing all of our players a fun, safe, and successful season. Play ball!

🥅🏒Great night at the rink for the 1st Annual New Cats vs Old Cats game. I had the privilege to jump on the mic and serve as emcee for this inaugural event. 🏒🥅

Awesome to see such a big crowd come out to support WHS Boys Hockey Boosters and Weymouth Youth Hockey. Nights like this are what make this community special, players past and present, families, and fans all coming together.

🎸🥁🎤We were lucky to have LostNFound providing the soundtrack. Those guys were legit, hard to believe they’re still in middle school.🎸🥁🎤

Huge credit to everyone who helped organize the event and to all who showed up and supported it. Already looking forward to next year.

☘️Thank you to Weymouth Council on Aging for hosting such a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day celebration. It was great to spend time with so many residents enjoying the festivities together.
