LWV Hingham hosted a Candidates' Forum for the 2026 Democratic Primary in the 8th Congressional District. Congressman Stephen Lynch & Patrick Roath answered 8 questions from the League. Doors opened at 6:30PM for the 7PM event at the Chapman Middle School Auditorium in S. Weymouth on August 13th.

Judge Talwani has granted LWVMA's preliminary injunction to block mail-in voting restrictions for the November 3rd Election!

A win for voters!! 🎉📫️A federal court just blocked the US Postal Service from implementing the executive order restricting mail voting for the 2026 elections. LWVMA Executive Director Celia Canavan applauded the ruling as a win for the Constitution and for every voter who relies on mail-in ballots. Doors open at 6:30pm for the 7PM event. 👏👏LWVMA & the 8th District Leagues -- Westwood/Walpole/Dedham, Sharon/Stoughton, Norwood & Boston -- are co-sponsors🙏👏🙏

The format is the same as our local-race candidate forums -- opening statements, questions and closing statements. The Moderator resides in the 9th Congressional District. As always, NO ELECTIONEERING IS PERMITTED INSIDE THE VENUE, so please leave any t-shirts, hats, signs, buttons, stickers, etc at home or in the car if you plan to come inside for the event🙏.
