Late Friday night, Redland was called to Price Road in regards to a four wheeler accident. Crystal Bethea, owner of Woods 2 Wall Taxidermy, and her friend, Marisa Logsdon, were riding a four wheeler when they collided with a deer.

Marisa “had a concussion and road rash and was released the same day from the hospital.” Crystal says, “I ended up with my wrist not broken but was severely sprung, ankle broken with new metal screws and plates in it, 4 broken ribs, a fractured c7 and a fractured sinus broken from my glasses.” She is now in the recovery stages, but she still has a long road ahead of her. If you’d like to help the family, there is a meal train attached in the comments.

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Captain Chris Swaney, #1753. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army and he served our fire department for over 20 years.

To us, he was one of our absolute best. He responded to nearly every call and he helped save many lives and homes. He dedicated himself to helping others and he made a great impact on the Redland community. Captain Swaney will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and work alongside him.

We ask that you pray for his wife, his children, grandchildren, extended family and close friends during this time.

Rest easy 1753. We’ll take it from here.
