Westville Vol. Fire Department Established in 1851, the Westville Fire Department is one of the oldest continually operating volunteer fire departments in Indiana.

Last night at approximately 10:20 pm Westville fire units were dispatched to the 100 block of Tulip drive in Westville for a reported structure fire. Units arrived on scene to find the rear of a residence engulfed in flames, units rapidly extinguished the fire saving the home from further fire devastation. Non-Inhabited Structure Fire Response

At approximately 2:15 PM today, the Westville Fire Department and Liberty Township Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a working detached garage fire on 625 East in Porter County.

Upon arrival, first-in crews found an approximate 32x20 detached garage fully involved in fire. Firefighters deployed multiple handlines and brought the fire under control after approximately 18 minutes of suppression efforts.

Mutual aid was provided by:

Liberty Township Fire Department with an Engine, Tanker, Squad, and Incident Command.
Washington Township Fire Department with an Engine, Tanker, and Forward Operations.
Pines Fire Department with an Engine and two Tankers.
Chesterton Fire Department with a Tanker.

The Porter County Fire Investigation Team responded to the scene and completed the initial investigation.

The Westville Fire Department extends its appreciation to all assisting agencies, as well as Porter County Central Dispatch, the Porter County Sheriff’s Department, and Porter EMS.

No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Westville Fire Department would also like to thank the community for its ongoing support and cooperation.

**FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE**

Today shortly after 2pm, we responded to reports of a fully engulfed vehicle fire on 421 in the North bound lanes and New Durham Mall Ave.

Chief 2001, Engine 2042 with a crew of two, Tanker 2052 with a crew of two responded and extinguished the fire shortly after arrival.

421 North bound lanes were shut down for approximately 45 minutes. We would like to thank La Porte County Emergency Medical Service Westville Indiana Police Department La Porte County Sheriff's Office and John's Garage for assisting on scene for traffic control and clean up.

Your Westville Volunteer Fire Department is currently accepting applications, any interested parties can stop at the station on Monday nights after 5pm to pick up an application.
