Join us for a week of patriotic celebrations, family activities, community gatherings, and historical events as Weston commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the United States!
Sunday, June 28 Celebrating Freedom Walk & Opening Ceremony
• 7:00 PM | Weston Mountaineer Military Museum- Walk to the Lewis County Courthouse dressed in period attire or red, white, and blue. Participate in a community scavenger hunt, enjoy music and speeches, witness the lighting of the event torch, and sing the National Anthem.
Monday, June 29 Kids Day
• 6:30–7:30 PM | Water Street Parking Lot- Sidewalk chalk art, games, cupcakes, ice cream, and music.
Tuesday, June 30 Historic Storytelling
• 6:00 PM | Heart House, Main Avenue- Experience stories from America's past through engaging narration and discussion.
Wednesday, July 1 Historical Reenactment
• 6:00 PM | Holt Square on Main Ave- Explore period encampments, live demonstrations, authentic uniforms, and reenactors portraying pivotal moments in American history.
Thursday, July 2 Veteran Appreciation Night
• 6:00 PM | Holt Square & WV Museum of American Glass
Enjoy music, a Color Guard presentation, recognition of local veterans, and a complimentary meal. Please bring a chair and spend the evening.
Friday, July 3 Share Your Patriotism Contest
• Show your patriotic spirit through decorations, reunions, businesses, parties, or pets. Submit photos by July 10 to [email protected]. Trophy awarded to the winner!
Saturday, July 4 Weston Fourth of July Celebration
• 9:00 AM – Stars & Strides 5K (St. Patrick's Church Parking Lot)
• 11:00 AM – 1K Kids Color Run (Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum)
• 5:00 PM – Flame Queen Crowning (Weston Volunteer Fire Department)
• 6:00 PM – Fourth of July Parade (Downtown Main Street)
• 6:30 PM – Street Party on Water Street featuring vendors, food, live music, and family fun
• 10:15 PM Grand Fireworks Display
