🚨🚨Final Update on Election Data🚨🚨
This journey has been fun and wanted to share some data since I like numbers 😄 but also it gives context to our efforts and could help others who may want to join in municipal elections in the future, though this would apply more to WVC District 4.
If you’ve been following along, we squeaked through the primaries by a slim margin over Jim Vesock and Geovani Salazar and by only spending $78. The incumbent Cindy Wood had a great showing in the primaries carrying 57% of the voting share, spending $6,358.39 and showcasing a strong base and winning each of District 4’s 18 precincts.
At our campaign headquarters haha… we quickly added to our budget for mktg purposes like signs, posters, canvassing, etc., including targeted emails and text messages. We noticed the incumbents strengths were in all precincts, but she did really good in precinct 20, 21, 33, 53, so these likely voters should’ve received some mktg material from our campaign.
Some silver lining for us after the general election results:
• We outgained in 9 of the 18 precincts, 3 of the 4 (21, 33, 53) where Cindy did really good in the primaries 💪😎.
• We also outgained in actual votes 642 vs 779, that’s an increase for us of 20.60% from the primaries.
• We maintained our efficiency:
- Incumbent spent $9,151.72 or $4.39 per vote
- We spent $2,944.53 or $2.55 per vote
Plenty of good lessons to learn from this experience. It’s my hope that our increase of support from primaries to general election was due largely to our areas of focus: Safety, Youth, Entrepreneurship, and Community Engagement.
However, thank you! especially all 1,155 that supported our message, nothing but love for each and every one of you and your families. ✅
