Did you know....
The Prosecutor is rarely consulted on matters of bond at initial appearances. In fact, I almost never know what bond will be set, and have zero say if home confinement or a PR bond is issued. I only get a say if there's a violation or if they can't make said bond and a modification is requested.

The Prosecutor cannot make extrajudicial statements about a case that would taint the jury pool, so don't be surprised if you call or email my office and get a generic answer about the criminal process.

WEST UNION, W.Va. — A Doddridge County grand jury returned indictments against 16 individuals during its February 2026 session, according to Prosecutor Betsy Coffey.

As the first day of school quickly approaches, I want to take a minute to remind folks about keeping your kids' personal information SAFE. Predators are on social media. They can use the personal information about you and your child to gain their trust and build relationships. Be mindful, and as you write your first day of school signs consider keeping some information off of social media. PRO Deputy Garner took some time out of his day to help us with a fun demonstration!

Keep things general and don't give out your kids' teacher's name or what class they are in. Even things like they're favorite book or movie can be used to break the ice and gain trust. Remember to have conversations with your kids about safe adults and remind that SAFE adults won't ask them to keep secrets.

💜 Take a look at this sweet girl 💜

This is Grasshopper, a 4 year old Pomeranian/Terrier mix. We want our friends to see this picture to reference the size of those bladder stones. Yes, bladder stones!

These were surgically removed from this 12 pound girl on Monday. She came in from Animal Control just a couple weeks ago. We thought she had a UTI, but x-rays showed these monstrosities.

This is the result of 2+ years of constant UTIs that were not treated. No dog should have to suffer like that.

Five days post-surgery, Grasshopper is doing really great and now has a spring in her step!
We could use help paying for her surgery, and she also has to be on a prescription diet to prevent future stones.

Now that I’ve had some time to process and breathe, I want to express my deep gratitude to the citizens of Doddridge County for your support and confidence. To my family and friends, thank you for the pep talks, the faith, the undying love and support and for the company on this journey. To my husband and my mom, thank you for taking this leap with me, keeping your cool when you really thought better of it, and for reminding me to stay true to the mission and stay the course and to keep my head held high.
