I've had several community members over the last couple weeks ask if I’m running for USD 464 Board Of Education (BOE) this year and the answer is No - I’m in year 2 of a 4 year term.

USD 464 BOE has 7 total BOE seats and the terms are 4 year commitments. For the 2025 election:

▪️3 BOE at large seats are up for election on Nov 4th
▪️4 candidates applied:
➡️- Lisa Balmer
➡️- Evan Dean
➡️- Chris Gratton
➡️- Susan Stieben
▪️The top 3 with the most votes will fill those USD 464 BOE seats

The 2025 Tongie Tailgate is tomorrow! All district families, staff, and community members are invited to enjoy a complimentary meal (hot dogs/chips/cookies/water), as well as scrimmages, performances, and team & club introductions. The schedule is as follows:

4:30 - THS Volleyball Scrimmage in Chieftain Arena (gym in Tonganoxie High School)
5:15 - Hot dogs served at Beatty Field (stadium beside Tonganoxie High School)
5:30 - THS Band Performs
5:40 - TMS and THS Football (THS scrimmages)
5:43 - First State Bank Presentation (during football)
5:50 - THS and TMS Volleyball Announced (during football)
5:55 - Unified Bowling Announced (during football)

Tonganoxie veterans and families, please join us Thursday for our fifth annual Veterans Day ceremony. Parking on the south side of the new gym will be reserved for our veterans to ensure easy access to the gym entrance.

For those that haven’t seen yet, here are the results from yesterday’s election. Sincere thank you to all my supporters! My reason for running has always been about our local community and I am optimistic about our future. I look forward to listening and serving the students, teachers and patrons of the USD 464 school district beginning in January.
