One year ago today, our country lost Charlie Kirk.
Charlie was not just a political figure to me. He was a friend, a colleague and someone I had the privilege of working alongside.
We traveled the country together speaking. We worked together on events and causes we believed in. I shared stages with him, spent hours with him and saw firsthand the passion and determination he brought to everything he did.
Years before his death, I had the honor of putting together an event for Charlie in Des Moines on September 10.
I never could have imagined that the same date would one day become the anniversary of his death ๐ข
That is still difficult for me to comprehend.
Today, I remember Charlie not only for what he accomplished politically, but for the person I knew personally. He was young, passionate, fearless and determined to make an impact.
Most importantly, today my prayers are with Erika, his children and his entire family. No public accomplishment can take away the unimaginable loss of a husband and father.
Charlieโs life mattered. His work mattered. And his legacy will continue.
May God give his family strength, comfort and peace today and in the years ahead. ๐บ๐ธ๐๐ป
