Our Career Academy students put their culinary skills into action at Good Grub by preparing sandwiches for guests at the Senator Philip D. Lewis Center in West Palm Beach. Good Grub is a social enterprise of the Career Academy of the Palm Beaches. Our mission is to remove barriers to employment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

A special thank you to 27Sandwiches, a Breaking Bread Breaking Barriers partner, for sponsoring the meal and creating an opportunity for our students to gain valuable hands-on experience while serving their community. We are grateful for partners who help our students learn, grow, and make an impact! 💙

Under the guidance of Executive Chef Kevin Bell, our Good Grub students with intellectual and developmental disabilities recently prepared and served meals for our Gulfstream Goodwill staff.

Through Good Grub, students gain hands on experience in food preparation, packaging, customer service, and the day to day operations of a working kitchen.

At Gulfstream Goodwill Industries, we are incredibly grateful for partners like Bank of America who invest not only in our organization, but directly in the people we serve.

Today, Camille LaGrange from Bank of America spent time with our shelter guests, sharing practical financial literacy tools and taking the time to get to know them and understand their needs. She helped participants learn more about budgeting, protecting their identity, planning for the future, and saving.

The conversation was informative, engaging, and truly appreciated by our shelter guests.

This is what meaningful partnership looks like: showing up, sharing knowledge, and helping people build greater financial stability and confidence.
