"Connecticut ranked 23rd in CNBC’s 2026 Top States for Business study, which was released this week, as it moved up five positions from last year.
The state’s placement this year in Top States, which is one of the leading trackers of economic competitiveness, highlighted its strengths and weaknesses. Among the 10 categories, it ranked fourth in education and fifth in quality of life. However, it was weighed down by respective rankings of 40th and 44th in the cost-of-doing-business and cost-of-living categories."
Connecticut's Top States for Business ranking reflected strengths such as education and quality of life, and problems such as high costs of living and doing business.
