On Monday, December 16th, there was a Burke County Document Dedication at the Burke County Judicial Center at 4:00 pm. Congressman Rick Allen attended, along with a local delegation of elected County Commissioners and local citizens.

The display includes The Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, Preamble to the Georgia Constitution, Lady Justice, the Magna Carta, The Mayflower Compact, the National Motto, The Star Spangled Banner, and The Ten Commandments.

A Georgia law of a non-partisan effort and signed by then Governor Nathan Deal allows the posting of these documents that form a foundation of our Republic. Lynda Brown presented the framed documents on behalf of Ten Commandments Georgia. Burke County becomes the 26th county in our state to post these documents. We are pleased to provide photos of the occasion.

5. WE BELIEVE in fair taxation for all.
6. WE BELIEVE in right to life, that life begins at conception and that all life is valued regardless of mental or physical ability.
7. WE BELIEVE that marriage is a union between one man and one woman.
8. WE BELIEVE in the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
9. WE BELIEVE in freedom of religion, that Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
10. WE BELIEVE in state rights, that the powers not delegated to or prohibited by the U.S. Constitution is reserved for the states.
