Amanda Saso - Wauwatosa Alderperson - District 4

Amanda Saso - Wauwatosa Alderperson - District 4 Wauwatosa District 4 Alderperson, mom of three, and longtime community advocate. Background in nonprofit leadership and historic preservation.

Sharing updates, news, and information for District 4 and all of Wauwatosa. Wauwatosa is my home. I grew up here, attended Wauwatosa schools, and now raise my family
here. Over the years, my professional and volunteer work has given me a deep understanding of
how city decisions affect neighborhoods, local businesses, and long-term community resilience. Through my leadership at the Wauwatosa Histor

ical Society and extensive neighborhood
involvement, I have worked closely with residents, city staff, and elected officials to solve real
problems, especially during challenging moments like the historic flooding that threatened the
Little Red Store. Those experiences showed me how important steady, transparent, and practical
leadership is at the city level. I am running for Common Council because I care deeply about preserving what makes
Wauwatosa special while ensuring the city remains safe, financially responsible, and forward-
thinking. I want to bring hands-on experience, a collaborative approach, and a strong
neighborhood voice to the Council.

I’m honored to share the two Common Council subcommittees I've been appointed to for the coming term:

▪️ Community Affairs Committee
This committee focuses on development, public safety, quality of life issues, and city marketing efforts.

▪️ Government Affairs Committee
This committee oversees matters related to licensing, employee relations, communication, governance, strategic planning, legislative affairs, and council administration.

In addition, I’ve been appointed as the Common Council liaison to both the Historic Preservation Commission and the Commission for Persons with Disabilities.

These appointments reflect so many of the issues I care deeply about: thoughtful growth, strong neighborhoods, accessibility, preservation, communication, and making sure Wauwatosa continues to be a community where people feel connected and heard.

Our first committee meetings are tonight, and I’m looking forward to getting to work alongside my fellow council members, city staff, commissioners, and residents.

As always, if you have questions, concerns, or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Some information from District 5 Alder Gustafson on the traffic calming demo on 68th street.

🚧 Traffic Calming Demo on 68th Street

If you’ve driven on 68th Street recently, you may have noticed something new at the Meinecke Ave and Clarke St intersections. Temporary traffic circles set up with barrels by our DPW and Engineering teams.

Here’s what’s going on: both intersections are part of the City’s neighborhood traffic calming program. Data collection has shown a pattern of speeding along 68th Street, along with a crash history at Meinecke and Clarke. The temporary traffic circles are a demonstration aimed at slowing speeds on 68th and drawing drivers’ attention to cross-traffic coming from the side streets.

While the barrels are in place, city Engineering staff will be gathering additional speed data to see whether the configuration actually brings travel speeds down.

If you have questions, observations, or concerns about how the demo is working, please reach out. I’d love to hear from you.

Hi neighbors!

I’ll be out tomorrow (Friday) picking up campaign yard signs around the district. If you’d prefer to take yours down sooner, you’re welcome to do so and deliver it to my front porch or leave it on yours and I will grab it!

Thank you again for all of your support — it truly meant so much throughout this campaign!

We did it. I am incredibly honored and deeply grateful.

I’m humbled by the trust this community has placed in me, and I don’t take that lightly.

Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign. You knocked on doors, made calls, hosted conversations, put up signs, donated, encouraged, and showed up in ways big and small. This was a team effort.

To my team who helped build and guide this campaign—thank you for bringing this vision to life and supporting me every step of the way. From building my website to showing up at every event and helping carry this across the finish line. I’m so grateful for each of you, you know who you are.

To my friends and family, thank you for believing in me, for your patience, and for carrying me through the long days. I couldn’t have done this without you.

And to the mentors and community leaders who guided me along the way—thank you for sharing your wisdom and helping shape me into the leader I am today.

Most importantly, thank you to the residents of District 4 for your overwhelming support. I’m ready to get to work and serve you with the same dedication and commitment I’ve brought to this community for years.

Let’s get to work. 💜
