Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County is committed to improving access to health services for uninsured, underinsured, and medically underserved residents of Lake County, Illinois. The Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County’s grantmaking addresses gaps in health services, increases the capacity of effective organizations and programs, and fosters innovative solutions to persistent h
ealthcare access problems. To date, we have awarded more than $6.2 million to organizations serving medically underserved residents of Northern Lake County, with special emphasis on the communities of Antioch, Fox Lake, Grayslake—Third Lake, Great Lakes, Gurnee, Lake Villa—Lindenhurst, North Chicago, Round Lake, Wadsworth, Waukegan, and Zion. The foundation was established in 2006 with the proceeds from the sale of Saint Therese Medical Center and Victory Memorial Hospital, two local institutions committed to providing value-based healthcare services for the communities they served.
