🍩 Happy National Donut Day!

What started as a simple act of kindness became a lasting symbol of hope. In 1917, Salvation Army volunteers known as the “Donut Lassies” served fresh donuts to U.S. soldiers on the front lines of World War I, lifting spirits during difficult times.

Today, we honor their legacy of compassion, service, and care—one donut at a time. ❤️

PANTRY IS ON TODAY Thursday June 4, 2026!!!
Today is our weekly Perishable Goods Pantry Giveaway from 11:30am-12:30pm. Just a reminder of the program rules:
Must be present to receive items; notes authorizing someone to pick up items not accepted
No more than two households per vehicle per trip through the line
Must take all items in cart
If on foot and want cart items, must take all items
No substitutions of items
Items available as donations allow and are given away on a first come, first served basis. There is no guarantee that every person will receive the same items.
Guests must stay in vehicles when carts being loaded
Dogs must be always under control of owner – on foot or in vehicles
Poor behavior results in denial of services at discretion of Food Programs Manager
We appreciate everyone's cooperation to help us continue to provide this service as efficiently and smoothly as possible!

The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls' office (89 Franklin St.) is CLOSED today in observance of Memorial Day. There will be no noon meal. The office will open again at 9am tomorrow morning.
